Ah, another wonderful Burger release
I just skimmed through this so far, but the video quality is good from what I can see, and both Japanese and English 5.1 audio were kept, so I can't complain there. Except for the fact that there are 3 empty audio streams that someone didn't bother to remove reference to (so on your dvd player you have to toggle between 5 audio tracks instead of 2, and 3 of them are blank).
Now on to the menus. Burger chose to keep all 3 versions of the menus (English and 2 other languages). At almost 100MB for each version, I don't really think the other 2 languages needed to be kept, but that's just my preference. Now, for the part that is actually bad, and not just against my preferences. When I was looking through the menus, lo and behold, all the buttons were there, including buttons that link to content that had been removed. Also, there are a few menus that have nothing on them but links to stripped content, and those could have been blanked out to save even more space.
All in all, good video and sound quality, but bad menu editting.

***EDIT***
Just found out that they didn't remove the R.C.E. protection either...

***EDIT #2***
When I ran the release through DVDShrink to get rid of the blank audio tracks, it told me that the DVD was RCE protected, so I'm not sure what happened there....

Actually, they did. They made is an all region disc (since some players crash if they don't have a region to match up to) and if you look at the disc in DVDDecrypter, it says "RCE Protection: No"

At least that's my copy, but I'm pretty sure there isn't too much Steamboy floating around

But as for the menu, ya, they did waste around 200 megs there. But if they re-authored the menu, then we'd all here crying and complaining also. So it really is a lose/lose situation here.

I was pleasantly surprised that the movie was still just over 4GB on the disc. I was thinking, "damn, it'll be like 3.2GB for the 127 movie".

Overall, good release. Nice to see something other than Disney cartoons.

LOL. It seems that MPG one uped BURGER with untouched video by removing some of the end credits.

As for this release, it's still a good one considering the mistakes. So for anyone that doesn't have this release get the MPG version instead.
