If you try to open the cd1 avi with virtuadub you get the error
Oops - virtualdub has crashed..etc
Crash details (best guess as to cause)
An integer division by zero occurred in module 'xvidcore' while decompressing video frame 0 with xvid mpeg4 codec
[Bicompression = 44495658][Videosource cpp 1772]
Well, i'd let you know what I thought of the rip if it'd play. I tried playing CD1 in a few different players and it crashed each one. If I figure out why and/or how to resolve the issue i'll post it here.
If iMBT posted a fix, that would make life much easier.
Would've edited my last post, but it's not up yet.
From VDub:
No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format. (source format tag: 2000)
My AC3 codecs have worked for every other file i've ever tried to play until now and i'm not going to go into playing with other codecs to see what works. Again, if someone finds something that solves the problem, please post.
Thanx.
::EDIT:: Discuss encoding problems in the correct part of the forum. If this release PLAYS, review it... Please? - NS::
In my standalone divx player, cd1 initially doesn't play. It just skips to cd2 (they are both on a DVD)
However, if I stop cd2, and then go back and play cd1, cd1 plays fine.
Again, I think it has something to do with the error I get in virtualdub. tried virtualdub 1.69 and get essentially the same error as decribed in my previous post.
It's corrupted in the beginning.. easiest fix is cutting first 5 seconds with mplayer/mencoder:
mencoder input.avi -ovc copy -oac copy -ss 5 -o output.avi
Maybe you folks got the release from the same source and that pack was packaged wrong. BitTorrent site your source?
Does anyone know why there was no corruption fix put out? Wouldn't it be fair to say this release wasn't really a valid proper based on the basis that it wasn't properly created anyway?
Thoughts?
ps - I personally don't think much credence was given to this release because the movie wasn't a top-shelf movie anyway, so there's no real motivation to see another fixed version released.
