Finally a NTSC ...

excellent RIP .. thanks ... and with all the extras too .. nice ..

V-10 A-10 M-7

movie wasnt as good as the first one

So does this mean that MPT has stopped using DVDShrink and other one-clickers? I see a bit-rate, but I've seen that before also.

BTW to jadakiss... All extras ripped usually means there are no extras on the disc.

The 2 thinks I cant figure out is:

Main movie vobset, second unused PGC is blanked (0:00:00) when the main PGC is the movie. Usually when I dummy a PGC and/or if doitfast does it, it will always give me 0:00:01. So thats one thing I cant figure out, so it has to be a different program other then doitfast.

Second is the 9800k maxbitrate. Scenerist wont let you use that high of maxbitrate, nor will doitfast, with 5.1 audio.

So this tells me that neither doitfast nor scenerist were used. I hear theres other tools like DVDReMake now. But I havent tried it yet.

Overall the movie works ok. Very bad pic, looks more like a 3 pass, and was authored using something other then the usual professional tools. It also wasnt labeled UNRATED like it should be.

My .02

This is possible, for example you can use menuedit to replace a VOBID using a still blank menu cell. Then the time will be (0:00), as long as you use Vob Extras in IFOEdit to rebuild the IFO and VOBS. Not saying that is what MPT have done here, but it is possible although I believe this is beyond a one-click group.

Yep ur right, I didn't think of using a still. But what about the 9800k Maxbitrate? As far as MPT not using one-clicks, ur crazy. At one point thats all they used, look at nuked prior releases. Thats why this is even in discussion, weather or not this is a one-click release.

I noticed XPDVD released a internal, so I might get that, sample looks alot better then this release, but I havent tested it yet.

Video looks like crap. After the original Ring, which had fantastic video and an average bitrate of like 7.4mbit/sec on the retail, I'd find it hard to believe this one would look so crappy. This looks like it was encoded by a toaster IMO. I guess I'll wait to rent it myself. I hate when groups do this (MPT and Shinbet to name a couple).

Looks like crap...

Everytimes MPTDVD releases something I just shudder. Props to XPD for the internal.

The XPDVD is a grainy mess as well. In their NFO it says Quality is #1, but the video is reencoded and they chose to keep some deleted scenes. Go figure.

ya the one movie ive been waiting for mpd has to get it first great
mabe a better group will do it right

rls was done with VOBblanker and DVDRrebuild really easy to do and really easy to tell. as for the 00:00 blanking, thats from vobblanker it does that. as for the rls itself...its ok little grainy, but not a bad rls, completely working. DVDrrebuild does use CCE for the encoding, it just doesnt really do the pgc/vts sets correctly.

so nice job to mpt for the effort

video = 8

audio = 9 ...how could you rate untouched dd5.1 any lower ?

movie = 7 ...surprisingly good sequel.

its disturbing how people on this site rate how a group tells them to rate. they dont check the rls and then rate a 1 for the audio...how can untouched audio be rated a 1 ? that is the dumbest thing ive ever seen. the only think worst than a sheep nuker is a sheep voter....dont vote low scores cause your favorite boy band grp tells you they dont like another group...you just become a waste of space and a waste of what this site allegedly claimed to succeed since day one..

I do agree, but who gave the 1 on the audio?

Back to the release though. Got the XPD version I guess this might actually just be a retail problem. It's not that it is grainy, but blurry and compression is really noticeable unfortunately.

This version is marginally better than the XPD version. So if you like extras, get the XPD version. If you like movie quality, get this one. If you like both, buy it

::EDIT - Both ain't much to look at... Can't wait to see the retail to see if that is better or not... ::

MPTDVD = MUST PROPER THIS DIGITAL VIDEO DISC

must I say more?

as far as quality I think a vhs copy would look clearier than this.

Ya looks like the retail has the grain filter. Like 'Bruce Almighty' DVD. I read companies use the grain filter to enhance the movie. But to me thats crap. Well I know what movie I WON'T be buying anytime soon.
