Weeds

has anyone else caught this new show that airs on Showtime?
I originally heard about it during commericals while listening to howard stern one morning at work and just grabbed the ep that aired this week just before, and although only being a half hour it had me laughing lots and looks like it can shape up to being a pretty decent show.

anyone else who has seen, discuss.

I caught the first ep, it started of a bit slow but was good once it got going.

This sounds a bit wierd but, I couldn't help thinking that it was trying to be a bit like "Desperate Housewives". The whole meeting at the start with all the mothers and then finding out that the friends kid was gay.

Apart from that It was pretty funnny and the storyline is priginal. Plus Mary-Louise Parker is hot Will definately catch the next few eps.

That's the problem.. they're developing characters, when the average person only really cares about the drug situation, not whether the son can get head from some deaf girl.. yea, it's a little funny, but nothin' with real lasting power.

I am a bit late on this thread, and its probably a GOOD thing... why? the first 3 episodes were magically created crap that isnt how it happens, but as 4-5 came reality set in, now to eps 7-8 this is generally right, besides i wish i had a broad screw me because she sold some bud in my area.

I now do find her hot, and that started in ep 6... now its reality besides the gratuitious sex with multiple dealers (but i suppose it happens)...

Other than the sexual aspect, this show has turned into a close copy of how it goes... besides the 80 types of bud, but it is cali so i dont know... all i can say is cheers and it has me wanting the last 2 episodes before the new season, as im sure will come...

ps a bust is sure to come, ruling too much territory is a problem, but ive been through 2 without a felony due to having a good lawyer, a 3rd will not be an option, but i quit while i could, she seems too intruigued to quit, even after the pennies

How long you can keep up a dealing show? I have no idea, but I kept it up for 8 yrs... the show and dealing problems might run dry before that though

I have only seen eps 1-3, since I am in the UK and I am watching it on Sky One.

But yes, she's hot. Which leaves only one thing to say:

"You Can't Miss The Bear!!!!!!!!!"

Is the season over? i've only gotten to about 10 episodes i think, been about two weeks, can't find any more, think the season might be over, good last ep though, can't wait for more, great show in all.

Yes s1 was only 10 eps long. And i don't think the point of the show was to be realistic hehe , its just fun.

Yea, I check out the show's forum on Showtime and it seems it's kinda in limbo for a season 2. They've yet to resign it, but those who watched it seem to like it.. so I would bet it'll be back.. but who knows?

Posted by b_3 on 11-03-2005 06:14 PM:

Seen episodes 1-10 here in the UK (download).

I really liked it, at first I found it pretty boring, but after episode 2 I really started to get into it. I think it was meant to be a comedy, but I never really found it funny, still, good as a drama. Don't think it was a very accurate portrayal of the drugs scene, but then I don't think that was the scriptwriters main aim. Can't wait for season 2, even if it isnt confirmed they will make one.

Trailer for the season's up there. Anyone interested? I got to admit I enjoyed the first season by the end.

I watched S1 kind of sporadically. It's got great dialogue at times, and the basic concept just cracks me up.
A few eps of S2 got leaked, they're pretty hilarious, I hope the show goes on for a couple of seasons, it definitly has potential

Aagh!!! 'We at Showtime Online express our apologies; however, these pages are intended for access only from within the United States.'

They had better get on with it and air it in the UK soon... I really enjoyed the first season, Kevin Nealons caracter 'Doug' just cracks me up every time!!

Yeah, if only there was a way to watch American Tv shows before they air in the U.K. If only someone would link lots of computers together and transfer files, if they did that it would be very easy to get T.V shows as soon as they air, they could call it the interlink or something snappy like that.

You know... you just might be onto something! needs a snappier name though, Interlink just doesnt have that ring to it.... how about... Worldnet?

I have to say, I dl and watch movies as I would have to pay for them whether they are shit or not otherwise, with TV shows its a bit different. I dont mind waiting, I just dont like paying!

Plus, if I download them all, then I wont have anything to look forward to, or anyone to discuss them with!
