RIPPING DVD

[B][I][SIZE=3][FONT=times new roman][COLOR=skyblue]anyone know any good programs to use to rip dvds..currently i am using Xilisoft DVD ripper.. it works great and gets a 2hr movie done is less than 5 hrs but the only thing i cant figure out is how to down size the file.. when i ripped it it became a 3gig file.. how do i make it into a SVCD file..using only liek 1.5 gig a movie?? if you guys know of any solutions please let me know thanks[SIZE=3][FONT=times new roman][COLOR=skyblue]

honestly...if you do more of a lil search you'll get the answer your looking for...


to make it into a svcd use dvd2svcd you can get more info by going to doom9.org

PS: There's a difference between ripping a DVD and encoding it to another format.

The easiest way would be using GordianKnot + XviD if you want to encode to MPEG4 (.avi) or DVD2SVCD + CCE if you want to encode to MPEG2 (SVCD/DVD).

Use DVDDecrypter to rip your DVD to the hard drive.

to rip to xvid, use Auto Gordion Knot (AutoGK). its fairly fast, the quality is superb, its very simple to use, and most importantly, its what all the people in the scene use to make the dvdrips.

and its freeware...
