anyway good copy overcropped, I think its the source. cuz svcd was overcropped as well. 5/6/5 audio was pretty good not the best iv heard. movie was kinda dull.... its been done before.

Alot of these TC/TS whatever ... wont get into that, sources from russian already have a 4:3 ratio crop on them (source) when i downloaded a few russian copies from torrent.

Groups like TUN , NBP , SAOSiN , etc .... then put a 16:9 crop ontop of that already cropped source on encode, without keeping FS aspect. Which of course makes it looks squished , cuts part of the screen off , makes bad ar , among every other problems.

Centropy , VideoCD did all their TS's as a 16:9 ratio , so all groups wanna be like them and then encode theirs like Centropy/VideoCD did theirs. Not thinkin that those TS's that Centropy & VideoCD did we're prob fullscreen when encoded.

As for this copy picture looks squished as mentioned in NBP thread , this is the exact same copy just (quality picture & sound wise) different format , NBP is MPEG2 , ASTEROiDS is XViD. The sound from what i seen has been alot nicer then most ASTEROiD releases latley , quite clear and no echo (like their CAM audio). Picture is a bit grainy but not to bad , and colors are pretty good.

Overall , besides the squished picture , i would have to say this actually looks like a TC unlike the rest they lable "TC". I just hope they learn to not crop and it prob would have looked better in this case with the original source crop.

I been lookin forward to this movie, heard good stuff about it, unfortionatly it wasnt playing in any theaters near me so i welcome this release and thx ASTEROiDS, even though overcropped very watchable.

6/8/?

From the sample I don't think it is bad at all. The AR is ok by me, and the audio is good. The picture is as crips or crisper than Fantastic 4 was.

ASTEROiDS Strikes again

Video Nice, colors are brilliant, Motion is smooooth, and the detail is amazing; forced subs are in English i dont think its a Russian source, this time

Audio Direct on the better side for jacked audio of late, not DTS but its just fine

Movie I'ma lover for War Movies;

9 (woulda been a 10 if not for an a/r nuke)
10 (compared to all previous ASTEROiDS Direct Audio)
7 (compared to other WW2 movies)

great job ASTEROiDS, keep 'em Coming, and i'll keep warshiping you

well unlike most people... im not EVER here to complain(putting it nicely) about stuff no one forced me to download. I did just finish watching the movie and so heres my review.
Video: 7
Audio: 7
Movie: 8 - It may have been done before, but its based on a true story and it's never bad to make a movie about brave people who risk their lives to save others.... thats more than most of us can say we've done! hell on this website.. prolly all! lol

the telesyncs that were released by ctp, videocd and saosin wernt fullscreen, they are all from 16:9 source (ie filmed in a typical widescreen cinema) because alot of their releases arent cropped vertically at all, and on quite a few releases (eg dodgeball, bourne supremacy) the cam moves to the side and you can see the side of the screen, as well as the top and bottom slightly and on one of saosin's (robots) the camera tilts over to the left for a sec during the credits and you see the bottom of the screen. so they arent from a fullscreen source, except bruce almighty from ctp which was cropped at the sides (zoomed in too far). every fullscreen ts ive seen has been too cropped at the sides, so most likely that the so-called fullscreen source was just a cam zoomed in too much.

as for this rls

8.5/8/?-looks a heap of shit

thanks asteriods...

Thx for correcting me . I knew the crop ratio on the russian TS's from torrent and knew the general process videocd/ctp did , i just didnt realise their CAM > Computer already has a 16:9 ratio.

Still doesnt excuse the fact every other group wants to be like them.

look perfectly fine to me, I can maybe see where it might be overcropped but hardly noticable. Not like that Constantine release awhile back. Audio seems perfect from sample and video is very nice as well. ASTEROiDS sure have some impressive releases. Will watch the movie later.

from sample, and alook through. ok it is over cropped, but its still bang on with quality. 9/9/?, only watched parts

Posted by goman on 09-11-2005 12:35 PM:

seen much worse overcropping then this..

very good release

8.5/9/8 (good film)

Highly viewable, picture is overcropped, undoubtedly, but overall very good for TC
Sound is ok, dialogues could be understood effortlessly.
If it wasn't for the cropping thing this would have been a hell of a TC.
With all these crappy cams around, TCs (even of these standards) are.....heaven

Video: 8.5
Sound: 7
Movie: 9

Video is fine. Sound is a little hollow but watchable and doesn't really distract from the film. The AR is 640x240 according to XBMC I don't see what's wrong with that. 640x320 would be better (if that's even a valid resolution) but yeah. It's no DVD standard resolution. And if you play it on a XviD compatible DVD player on a widescreen TV it shouldn't be too much of a problem. But I can see how it would be bad on a PC Monitor. I'm using 4:3 TV's and I can see why someone would complain about overcropping.

Still. This is probably the best version out at the moment, until a DVDSCR or retail DVD come along.

Very watchable. But best on standalone with a widescreen TV as it's mainly the height which is the problem.
