tmpg encoding problems

ok imsure this is the right place to post this and if not im ready for a blasting

im trying to change the colour (contrast brightness )and some others for a XVID movie in tmpgenc but every time i click start i get this message

Read error occurred at address 00403519 of module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with 2065682C
then when i press ok the program shuts down

can anyone here help me or suggest a good program to change the colour ? cheers in advance

the movie i have been trying to tweak is asteroids wedding crashers if it helps

avisynth wil do it for you... let's you really control it too. you shoudl be able to laod the avisynth script into TMPG, just make sure you also install the VFAPI plugin which enables you to import AVS-files. Basically, avisynth is a frameserver, and all the colour conversion would happen before the frames are even given to TMPG to convert to DVD.

avisynth has a .org site to find out what it can do and to download it (it's free). I'm not sure if I can post a link to it but you should be able to guess what it is. go to the filters to find out about colour brightness contrast, etc.

i was looking for something alittle more basic also a program where i can preview when im doing it

well, you should be able to play the avisynth scripts in Windows Media Player or any other video player as well. so you can see what it will look like in any of those players before you actually do the re-encoding. I always check what things will look like in WMP before reencodding.

there may be a corruption in the compression of your xvid. have you run your file thou divxfix. or virtual dub to correct the problem? if you correct it 'TMPGEnc.exe or 'TMPGEncExpress" will do the trick

yeah i tried running it through divxfix it said there was no errors
i also tried green street in tmpg encode and that doesnt work through it either also tried wedding crashers in avi2mpeg and it closes and wedding crashers wont play in windows media player either get the message
"window media player has experienced a problem and needs to close "
