just got done watching this awhile ago.....

first off sample is crap - the first ~1 minute you can only scroll through the video and the final ~10 seconds you can actually play it, though there's no audio. what crap. i tried many media players, too. i've never seen anything like that.

anyhow i watched the whole release.

the video quality is sub-par for a SVCD DVD SCR (too many minor details to describe). still watchable.

the audio is your run of the line stereo from low quality equiptment that the movie was filmed with. surely they could have found a better narrator for some parts but anyhow none of that is the studio's fault. so the audio isn't great but it's not the studio's fault.

the movie is very watchable quality-wise.

the movie, however, sucks majorly. basically a documentary of this comepletely out of his mind lunatic with interviews from people who knew him. there's more footage of "Tim" making a complete fool of himself, acting as if he's got a dozen psychological disorders and taking lsd or some other kind(s) of illegal drugs.

what a disaster. i'm all for saving wildlife but this movie barely touches upon that at all. everyone involved with this project should be ashamed for themselves for making this guy look like a complete and unbelievable character. surely with "over 100 hours of footage" that he has, they could have thrown together a more respectable film of how much he cared for wildlife and left out most all of the film that makes him out to be a psychopath who needs serious health.

i suppose they figured that wouldn't make for as 'good' of a film. i was completely disgusted with this movie. the worst 'documentary' i've ever seen.

one last thing - there are b&w scenes, but not too many and they're short. i don't know if anyone else mentioned that yet or not.

Worst documentary ever? LOL, dude you have absolutely no taste in quality moviemaking or documentary making. Werner Herzog is an absolute reference in quality and high artistic movies, and this one is no exception, as have numerous serious critics proven as well as the IMDB rating (masses). Your opinion is therefor completely isolated and means absolutely nothing. Even the "arguments" you gave are hilarious. This is not fiction, this is a story as it happened and Herzog brilliantly and profoundly captured it. Not that you would ever comprehend that.

I guess there was not enough HW popcorn, beautiful faces, explosions, and a predictable plot that would make you happy with characters suiting your way of thinking. People like you shouldn't even rate such documentaries, since they're beyond your comprehension in every possible way.

Sorry but I had to say all of this, cause I am absolutely devastated by certain people. Out of all Hollywood and other crap produced by big movie studios and among all the numerous group releases, this one gets spit at as total crap by your holy highness?? Incredible and revealing a total lack of serious movie criticism and understanding.

Best documentary of the year.

Whoever criticizes this is crazy- Herzog is one of the best documentary filmmakers ever, and this film shows it.
