Nice version
9/9/9
Bizarre all these people who prefer the version that was totally unfaithful to the book
Gene Wilder, scary????? Comon man!!

So, is this version a better adaptation to the book? I read the book in grade 4 and don't remember it at all. There was a sequel also that I read called something like Charlie and the Glass Elevator.

Either way, Johnny Depp was a little, odd...

The original movie with Gene Wilder is still better imo. But JD brings a different feel to Willy Wonka that I actually enjoyed.

Great picture, occasional pixellation on the WS standalone, on just parts of faces, etc.
Sound excellent. Loved both versions of the movie. The original was my kids' favorite.

No pixelisation here, 'though I did run the file through PGEedit before burning it which might have helped. Lovely transfer. Can't fault Replica. Soundtrack should have been DTS from the start. The Scandinavian version probably will be as it isn't by Warner Bros.

Watched most the film with a beaming grin across my face. Saw the previous adaptation recently and thought that was wildly overrated. Willy Wonka was an adaptation of an outdated stage musical written by by Anthony Newley and had little to do with Roal Dahl. This is an adaptation of the original book with lyrics by Roald Dahl set to authentic period music by Danny Elfman.

"Becoming Oompa-Loopa" was entertaining too.

great film and well done replica only fault i had was where it has been stripped down it can take up to 30 seconds to eventually load into player but once it does what a great quality rip.
