Sniff... ahh... I love the smell of bullshit... That is one interesting NFO.
"Not only do we bring all the untouched extras that the other version doesn't have, but we also have a higher bitrate on the movie itself?!?!"
Well, I'm dying to see how that is possible, but I always love surprises. The extras on the Pride version are over 1 gig, and the movie is just over 3 gigs. Granted that Pride wasted 60 megs, but that won't do 500kbit/sec more on the movie. Not sure, but somethings up. If anyone knows, please let me know I ain't D/ling another 4.5 gigs for no reason.

Exactly the point... So these guys say they have MORE extras and a higher bitrate at the same time... Makes no sense.

interesting...
It's interesting that, because it doesn't make sense to you, porco556, that it doesn't make sense at all... look at how long EwDp's been around and how long PRiDE has... there's a certain skill that comes with experience, and if you know the tricks of the trade well enough, anything's possible
So unless you have any idea what you're talking about, which you obviously don't, don't talk about smelling bs...

Just a thought, the dvd could be reauthored and the extras could be compressed, maybe they mean untouched in terms of things not being removed, giving the movie itself higher bitrate, just a guess.

OK... So I speak "bs"... Instead of what you wrote, why don't you explain it? Which is what I asked for to begin with.
I really don't care which group released what, as long as they did a good job, I don't care. Pride's NFO comes out mathematically to the bit, while EwDp NFO is not possible.
As for EwDp, they released A LOT of shit (and I don't mean "plentiful", I mean shit). Pride isn't any better and they are newer. So this is not a reputation battle.
But let's recap (according to the NFOs)...
EwDp: All the extras, untouched. 4629kbit/sec on the movie.
Pride: Deleted scenes only, untouched. 4080kbit/sec on the movie. 4.31GB total size (60 megs short) of full capacity.
So, I can't wait to hear the "trick" to do that. Even if they made the menu a single frame (no motion), then still there isn't enough space on the DVD for 4629kbit/sec.
So, they had to re-encode the the extras (which would be a good move) to make their 4629kbit/sec claim count. But the NFO says extras are untouched... So that is where the "BS" comes from.
So I will ask my original question again:
"If anyone knows, please let me know I ain't D/ling another 4.5 gigs for no reason."

did you ever stop to think, mabey they compressed the movie its self?
or they might have ripped it at a higher ompression rate

Nope, that's not how you began... you began by saying that you smelled bs, so me saying that you shouldn't talk about smelling bs was addressing your first post... so don't make it seem as if you don't believe what's in the nfo file when you admitedly haven't even downloaded the release to check it out. There was no disrespect to you, only your comment.
Secondly, if you want an explanation, the only one you're going to get without actually checking it out yourself, is that the EwDp release has the COMPLETE movie and extras, and it seems they ripped french and spanish sound streams to make room for everything, without having to downsample on the movie or extras... how that was done, I can only attribute to skill at what they're doing, cause calling them liars would be useless, cause I know for a fact that several other groups were going to release their own version of this movie, also with a higher bitrate than PRiDE, but I have no idea if theirs was complete. Either way, you can check it out for yourself if you know anything about calculating the average bitrate, and you'll see that they weren't lieing, as I did.
Finally, EwDp wasn't trying to proper or dupe PRiDE's release, in fact, they give them props in the nfo itself, so it wasn't an act of trying to outstage PRiDE... it seems to me that they wanted to release their own quality work with a little extra for those interested in the complete package... and like you said yourself
porco556, it's your choice, and every other users' choice, to download or not, and nukers can nuke this if they want even though everyone knows that noone's ever followed the "complete dupes non-complete" from the 2k3 and 2k5 ruleset... a complete release usually has the beauty of untouched video, and all the extras that make a DVD better than downloading an SVCD, which would take up less bandwidth too...
So if you wann mouth off about EwDp, go right ahead, but the truth is that they won't care, just like any other group in their place won't care... they do what they do for their fans... if others gain enjoyment out of it in the process, why not... there's enough love to be spread around... and mostly, it's done for fun, so if you're gonna get all rude about it, knock yourself out, while the rest of us enjoy another great release from a classic group

OoOohh... My head is hurting... Yes, both the main movie videos (EwDp and Pride) have been re-encoded. One at 4080 and the other 4629. But that isn't the puzzler.
I will make the question even simpler then.
"can somebody please tell me if the extras on the EwDp version have been compressed?"
OR easier yet,
"how many bytes total are the movie VOBs?"

I guess your going to have to download it and find out.
