Would have been nice if they had ac3 on this release since this moive has action sequences in it. But i guess alliance figured it was better for wedding crashers which has more speech and less booms and shit to have ac3. Not trying to complain at least i got the movie.

Video-9
Audio-9
Movie-8

Wink Sweet rip ALLiANCE

7 video - pixelation
9 audio - loud and clear
9 movie - hay I like this movie, its got beautiful tropical island scenes, beautiful under water scenes, and beautiful people scenes.
Has a moralistic theme, treachery, dream chasers, and buried treasure.

An excellent movie, very under rated.

its more to do with popularity then anything else suki.. not if its action scenes... if its a less popular movie.. why take the extra time to encode with ac3 sound.

8/9/? probably get added to my collection but never watched..

encoding software is the equivalent of The 404 going on a diet and walking thru the door. takes longer and sometimes more skill, but ultimately worth it.

This is obviously not a highly compressible movie and it it shows. Extreme blockiness at the start, middle and occasions during the end. Particularly poor quality during the underwater night scenes. Redish scenes have ants crawling..

It's about as poor as The In-Laws rip which DEiTY did back in the day.

If you've got one of the top telecines or telesyncs already, avoid this rip, it's not as good.

I like this movie, so I'm not just "getting it" for collection. I'm getting it to watch again and again.

I had INCiTE's TELECINE and maVen's TELESYNC and deleted them once I compared them to ALLiANCE's DVDRip. The white wash out in the TELECINE and TELESYNC are a glairing difference.

So, FrightfoO I’m gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Maybe you confused ALLiANCE's DVDRip with XPDVD’s DVDRip.

Posted by FrightfoO on 12-17-2005 07:46 PM:

Nah, I ain't seen any telecines or telesyncs of this movie, but I assumed they wouldn't be that much worse than this. However if I'm wrong so-beit :P

I watched this on a standard definition TV even and I can tell ya it didn't look good. The movie absolutely needed 2 CD's (to look good)... there's no doubt in my mind about that. It's not another Exorcism Of Emily Rose, in terms of compressility and looking good at low bitrates

Well its not really that fair to compare TS and TC releases with that of a DVD rip now is it ?

This is why i'm not a big fan of Alliance and all the other release groups that specialise in 1 CD releases. Action scenes usually break down (pixillate) and you don't get a sense of "sharpness" on the resolution as you would expect from a DVD rip.
