I was waiting for this to pop up here... Not to mention I was waiting for this movie for a while too!!

This is the unrated version. I'm assuming since it has 8 mins of footage. So were looking at some substance added. None of this "Dukes of Hazzard" 20 seconds of boob added crap. Never saw the theatrical, so I am not sure what is added. But the runtime is 8 mins longer (plus I am not sure there even is a "rated" version coming).

Video... 4.3 gigs dedicated to the 2.35 movie. I dunno. When I pause it on faster moving scenes, I see blocking in hair and looks bad. I also noticed in certain faster moving scenes a "rainbow effect" that I've never seen before. Slower moving parts of the movie are almost perfect though.

Video 8/10 - IT MAY be the source. The problems are not throughout the WHOLE movie, just certain parts. Maybe the new scenes added back are these? I dunno. 90% of the movie is fine, and I doubt the encoded just added random blocking and rainbows.

:: EDIT - OK... I think the issue is that the max bitrate was too low. The highest I've seen was 6200kbit/sec... During complex scenes (like the dancing 13 mins into the movie). Average bitrate there was like 4500. What I think is just the group didn't set their max bitrate to 9200kbit/sec... Some of those scene should have hit the max for sure... Weirder yet is that the credits bitrate is like 6400kbit/sec!! So that lowers my picky score to 6/10 ::

Overall, good release. Curious what "MULTI" means. Maybe there will be a R1 coming around the corner by Replica or XPDVD.

:: EDIT - Hope there is an internal or something... ::

MULTI means multiple subs ... not just spanish or english or french .. but around maybe 10 more subs .... thats it i believe... havent gotten a chance to see this yet so i cannot rated... will edit this when i do .. =)

Is this R1?

Posted by Tempo on 12-13-2005 11:45 PM:

I think I'll just wait on this one. Give it a week and there be something else out.

I think this is Canadian R1. It defaults to French audio.

why would a Canadian version default to french audio??? please enlighten me.

Posted by tiedie on 12-14-2005 01:23 AM:

the spanish subs work, the french subs are empty

Posted by Clubba on 12-14-2005 04:13 AM:

if it defaults to french audio then the release group screwed up. we dont all speak french in Canada and our dvds dont default to french either.

MULTI means 2 or more languages (audio tracks). In this case ENG + FR.
MULTISUBS means multiple subs.

The default French audio, forced French subtitle during the logo sequence, and fact the disc is labeled WEDDING_CRASHINGS all kind of bother me about this release. Here's to hoping for a proper NTSC release soon

Has anyone else noticed that the English audio is rather quiet and doesnt sound that good?

Posted by omega59 on 12-14-2005 05:26 PM:

sounds like just another racist comment lol anyhow.

10/9/(will watch later)

Well the only issue that I see is when the Title of the Movie comes up there is a French Subtitle but nothing ever after that.

Quality is great.... Not sure what the comment was below about the Blocking in the Dance Scenes. But I have watched this from Start to Finish and its near perfect!

v: 9
a: 9
m: 8

Great release!

The group released a patch to change the default language to english.
Looks decent enough on the WS. Sound was clear. Not bad for an early release (Jan 3, 2006 date)
I loved the movie, some of the funniest scenes in a long time.

Is this NTCS, can't tell from the ino file?

Posted by chadsfake on 12-19-2005 08:00 PM:

Video was OK other than the subtitle that popped up at the beginning. I give the audio low marks because of the defaulting to french. Disappointing movie, I had high hopes but after watching 40 year old virgin a couple of weeks ago this had a tough act to follow and was not even close.
