Yes, all the previews were ripped... But there is one problem with this release. They left 652 megs of black screen and emptiness in the VIDEO_TS.VOB...

So they ripped extras to make room for that nice black screen. I guess that makes sense.

Either way I'll end up doing this one myself. Video looked OK and anyone just watching this on a monitor, CRT, or one time only kind of deal, it's still more than enough.

But definitely their heart was in the right place and overall it is still an OK/good release. XPDVD also got caught with the black screen empty VOB stuff with Into The Blue and they promptly released a repack. Let's see if JKR will bother to do it?

Video 7/10 - Just because it could have been better. 652megs would have been 20% improved bitrate...

Speaking of which, they don't even mention bitrate. So, even with the missed VOB the bitrate is still 4290kbit/sec approx. PRETTY good... Without the VOB blanked, it would have been 5150kbit/sec approx. Will anyone notice? Probably not

Looks nice enough to me, the forgetting to blank the vob properly is a bit shit, but suppose these things happen.

The Region3 version of this was Untouched on a DVD5, this doesnt mention bitrate, or if it was re-encoded or Untouched, either way the vob thing aint good, as either better video or more extras could of been included.
I personally dont see them missing that, then going to the bother of Re-Encoding this, so theres a possibility it might be untouched, onluy got about 70% of it so far, but def looking good so far.

Ehh, JKR isn't all that bad. They did a few decent releases (Fantastic 4 R1 was the last). I guess all groups have to start somewhere.

As for the "NEW NFO"

I guess it's untouched if they say so. Until it comes out it's impossible to say for sure. But I haven't seen the NFO repack anywhere myself...

Ya took me awhile to even find this release. I don't think JKR gets spread that much, even on major releases (and no I'm not a n00b). I'm sure that will change sometime before they fade away.

I do question their tactics, like that bad release of Creep, that was horrible, i just saw the sample, and thats all i needed to see.

But I guess "like porco556 said" they gotta start somewhere.

release seems fine to me (this one).. and by interlaced on creep, i imagine josh means his leetor jpeg.. I watched that one and it was fine.. Jpegs lie.. but hey, we all cant be as leet as you with your torrents and all bro... and your uber knowledge of how to play things.. Try a dvd player or windvd... creep wasnt interlaced at all.. but each to their own.. Guess some people just cant be happy groups put out, and bitch and bitch.. about everything... Thanks for the release. JKR, keep them coming.. Dark water wasnt my favorite movie but all horrors suck these days... and Josh you seem quite ungrateful.. and cynical, wonder what horse your riding cause it sure is one that needs a swift kick or maybe its the jockey/

JUST a question... Are you a part of JKR? I do notice that you usually are quick on the defence of their releases and sort of sound like their NFOs a bit

As for JoshNya, he's good. It's important to be a little critical because there is a lot of shit out there (not saying this is shit), and without people to state their opinions on websites like these, many poeple would be left in the dark.

B) Im a senior member on here and take the time to watch shit, before I run my mouth .. unlike josh.and ive only posted on 2 jkr releases, and prob 100 or more other groups... so whatever.... Josh seems to be a leet p2p kiddie, and has "jpegs"... I just find it very disrespectful to any group or anyone putting their ass on the lines, to rag on them, whether it be silver groups ( hydro... they do suck cause silvers are horrid) or any other gorup... Judge the shit based on quality... I watched both the movies.... as i am able to download their stuff from that magic place no one ever knows exist... and i watch it... so I can give honest opinion.. I watched both this and creep, call me an avid movie lover, and both were fine.. To judge off a jpeg is lame... swear some kids need a banning here ( points to josh).. because you are very disrespectful... Both releases were fine NOT JUDGING from the jpeg... i watched them, physically in my dvd player.. take my advice, most people here dont... why we see the 10/10 /10 bullshit or i just saw the jpeg and gav it a rating.

Dude, as I stated, I saw the creep sample. Even ran it through dvd2avi and states pure NTSC. Just because your DVD player or WinDVD plays it in progressive mode (mass ghosting), doesnt mean its not interlaced to hell.

BTW, I've been on the scene since you were in diapers, and I was a 'kiddie' on the c64/ibm bbs scene many years ago. I won't dare state what position im in now, but I guarantee its a lot higher then you.

So when I say I've seen alot of come-and-go groups, you'll just have to take my word for it.

No need for another lame forums battle, I can prove you wrong in more ways then one.

ANd movie aside, progressive mode or not, it worked for me.. cant say for others, i tried it in 2 dvd players and it worked... but hey what do i know.

I am sure we're all "high enough" on the scene charts, but it really doesn't matter now does it. Heck, I used to type in my games on my Atari 400 from a magazine ("Compute!" was the mag, for anyone that remembers the good times

) and save them onto my tape drive (talking early 80's baby).

Back on topic though. Creep JKR was interlaced completely. Accidents DO happen and it's good that people comment, because it saves people alot of grief. And that's why propers were created.

But I can DVDShrink any movie, it will be shit, but it will work... Just like Creep JKR did (and interlaced is far worse that Shrink IMO).

Ya, mine was TRS-80, cept there where no tape drives then. So you would have to type it in everytime you wanted to play it. We would keep the machine on for days cause it would take hours to type in just one game. Man what a waste of time hehe.

I'm glad I read the comments first on this one. I'm still not sure about JKR releasing a repack so if they don't I guess I'll have to get the DVD-9 and do the reincode myself.
