Review

Heard this was nuked cause its a re-encode . But judging by sample it looks great . Lots of dust spotting tho . My sample dont have sound . Or im having sound problems on comp . Will report back after un rar in a minute .

Is this copy dark? The last one you could hardly tell what was happpening in the dark scenes.

Is this release acropped as much as the Asteroid release also is the same quality or worse?

Can anybody tell me if this one is better than the 'ASTEROID TC xvid'-release?

better detail than some of the other what? 4 releases? the problem comes with the crop to some...

seeing as I watched the hydro cam all the way through, this looks real nice... however a cam/ts has different standards than a TC, in my mind

A cam is allowed to not have the whole screen, now a TC... even to remove subs needs to stay the full picture.... ill crop them out if I choose not to have them (easier than fixing audio), they choose for me... the movie isnt that great, the sound is quite better than the cams... for a tc, you know its subbed (yet cropped out) due to the huge black bars to WS it....

thats my major problem... if it was something i needed to see again (but if i did i would wait for a DVD or good TC source after a 1st watch) this movie doesnt meet those standards...

some say the computer generated graphics is a reason to watch the movie in a theatre... I say its the story, and this story is overstretched and pretty stupid to recent generations... a few remakes have been ok... but using the same things again and again is played out.... too bad that will last for another year or more... oh well for this id say 7/8/5

you'd think a group would try and pass something like this off for a lesser release, but no, they go and do it for a huge blockbuster. have some pride in your work if nothing else!!!

video : 6, cropped to hell like all the other reencodes (xvid comes to mind). and if you think this is a real tc, i've got a news flash for you.

audio : 6, dunno if it has to be direct for a telecine per scene standards, but throw me a bone. non-direct audio doesn't surprise me considering their video source

movie : 6, didn't impress me (besides the cgi)

sorry for the harsh review, but certain groups that label ts's and audience audio as tc's and direct should just label properly. i'm not knocking the effort and risk they go to to provide these releases, JUST BE HONEST!!!

there is a hybrid xvid video - audio from who knows where floating about in dvd5 format. quality was suprisingly good, didn't see an official release for that version tho - would pass for a very good TS.

Yeah it is un-nuked! The sample looks good though, haven't gotten the whole thing yet. Will repost on quality when i do.
But judging from sample i rate it at 8.5/8.5/9

I don't know if NBP is the same source or not, but here's how I rate the ASTEROiDS xvid rls I watched last night--

Video: 10 - Excellent. I've seen lesser quality DVDRips.

Audio: 10 - Loud and clear, but a tad boomy. Subtract 1pt if you don't have an EQ.

Movie: 9 - Lived up to the hype imo...

The xvid is worth the grab, i am getting the ROYAL dvdr, guna watch it on saturday, but 3h 30m long it abit much,
