Nice release. I had the XViD of this earlier and then I got this. Looks like a different source though. The "For Your Consideration" lettering looks much thicker than the cut off one in the XViD.
NTSC video is a nice change for DVDSCR IMO.
If you DON'T have the XViD, get this one. It is much better video, but sounds like the same 5.1 audio (384kbit/sec DD5.1 on both the XViD and this DVD).
Anyone notice which 75 seconds are missing? I didn't, so it couldn't have been too important. But at the same time, I wasn't paying all that much attention the first time watching it.
::EDIT - OK, the 75 seconds happens during the kimono folding scene directly after bitch face talks to Chiyo ("Stay out of my room, your fingers smell" scene). Meaning the kimono folding scene is cut completely. All that happens is that they talk about bitch face and how much money she's made. Nothing critical.::
Movie was pretty good. It was over hyped and now it is falling to a quick death. And getting baraged by the white people who wish they were Japanese with bad criticism "Oh no! The kimono's are done up wrong in one scene!! 0/10!!" or "they're eating flavored ice which was invented in 1946, but the movie takes place 2 years earlier!! 0/10!!" The second one I made up, but the complaints are really funny (on IMDb forums that is)...
Slower movie for sure, so if you are looking for World War 2 gun battles and an A-Bomb drop finale, wrong movie. Definite chick flick.
Nothing But Pure Screener here..
The only way you will get a better Dvd copy of this movie, is to wait for it to release on Dvd...
Video 10
Sound 10
Movie 6
I also saw the xvid version. Makes me wonder what was cropped, as the watermark is full in this version.
