Lip Sync is alittle off from the sample, but quality was decent. watchable none the less. Will rate it once i finish watching, but just wanted to let people know lip sync is off if thats the sorta thing that drives people nuts.

For your consideration mean awards creeners....and those always contain b+w scenes and the anti piracy phone #...i think the 'for your consideration' was added into a very nice TS, to make it look like a SCR!

Posted by Truman on 01-23-2006 12:51 AM:

not all screeners have B+W scenes look at Brokeback Mountain for example.....so dont quote as per say......

Dont post til you have watched at least the sample..

Will post back asap.

im thinking you are joking but it seems many need a refresher course on the differences between a SCREENER and a DVDSCREENER. SCREENER = VHS Quality Tape, which is the case for this one. for your consideration would be marked on both vhs and dvdscreeners, although i rarely see black/white on vhs screeners. But seriously though, did you guys not see the past few VHS screenres by COBRA? They look similar in quality, and to say that this is just a TC posed to look like a screener are retarded. Anyhow, I prefer a quality TC over VHS SCREENER.

im going to get this release since it will be awhile until a TC comes out if it even does.

8/8/?

I only watched the sample on this one, but i didn't notice any jerky playback. The video was pretty nice. AR, and colors were good. I did get some weird blue splotches on the screen when they were in direct sunlight. Sound looked to be in sync. It was clear, and definitely direct. I'm not sure about the "screener" label though. I didn't see any watermarks, but just going from the sample quality i would say it was a good quality TS.

7 - No jerky playback for me, but some weird blue spots.
8 - Nice direct sound
? - Looks interesting, but i chose to watch Underworld first. :-)

I was reading that a Screener of this was sent to the awards and did a limited release to be considered for the awards, and that the screener is alot longer then what the theater is playing. Theater is 150 minutes. Whats this playtime on this release?

dwaggy, what did he say? its all **** out dood, who the fuck was he talking to anyway?

Posted by Ace25 on 01-24-2006 01:27 AM:

Ack.. terrible copy.

V:3 - VERY jerky play back on Xbox (unwatchable)
A:3 - Completely out of sync, really the killer for me.
M:? - Can't watch a studdering out of sync movie. I did watch about 10 mins of the first CD skipping through it all to see if it ever got better, but it didnt.

The positives are the video is pretty clear albeit a little fuzzy but thats the best a VHS screener will do. Audio is also clear, but out of sync. If the jerkiness of the video and sync problems were fixed it would be a great copy. Both can be resolved if they chose to repack it.

First negative review I have given for a Maven release. For all those that watch it on a PC and have no issues thats awesome, but I just can't watch a movie on my PC when I have a much bigger TV than monitor. That's just me though.
