Nice and quick release heard it might be a nuke but who knows time will tell good video and audio

Movie was pretty good in my books, great job guys.

Posted by chiv on 03-08-2006 07:04 PM:

meh, stick with the dvdscr... do you really want mp3 audio with a film like this?

Posted by DEMENTA on 03-08-2006 07:45 PM:

Wasnt there a DVDRIP a month or two ago aswell? I remember it came out immediately after the DVDSCR but i believe it was nuked for being on 3CDS , yet it did have DD audio THis one looks good, but the sound could be better for a DVDRIP.
Maybe shoulda tagged it as proper because of that other DVDRIP too, but who knows

Video - 9.0

Audio - 8.0

Movie - 9.0

Edit: found it - King.Kong.DVDRIP.XviD-GOD -Nuked-Oversised

So this one shoulda been a proper it seems ;P

The nuked one was the screener but ripped to 3CDs for better sound. This is the first Retail Rip.

i'll stick with gods rls, as it looks and sounds a hell of alot better than this.

sorry to burst your buble XtremeX, but GODs release of an ac3 King Kong in 3 cds was not a dvdscr, the dvdscr was released a day or two prior by a different group . and was not nuked

i perasonaly beleived it was a markless studio screener trying to avoid a dupe nuke....

as for this release.. if its anything like the dvdr by another nameless group. Just keep your non-scceen compliant oversized Dolby Digital King King

I've heard its nuked for bad AR

[NUKED] bad.AR

http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/...e13771787rm.jpg

It's 640x256 (=> 2.5:1)....

Posted by chiv on 03-09-2006 01:16 AM:

well just because it isn't 640x272 doesn't mean it should automatically be nuked... the resolution chosen was probably the most accurate, not the most widely accepted common ar... so i doubt it has an ar problem to be honest.

Just read the tdx:

quote:

- Movie encodes must be within 5% of the original aspect ratio.

Calculating AR % error: (Release AR - Original AR)/Original AR x 100

Release AR = 2.5
Original AR = 2.35

AR % error = 6.38 %

Should be nuked!

Posted by Redemption198 on 03-09-2006 01:06 PM:

Yeah, this smells of an AutoGk rip, i used that once or twice a while back, and it spits out some strange Resolutions and Aspect Ratio's that are way off, too many groups are using AutoGk i think or basing they're encodes on what imdb says the AR is, rather than doing the calculations themselves.

There is a Proper by Nukee now that uses 640x272 though after looking at the DVD i feel 656x272 would be more accurate.

Posted by chiv on 03-09-2006 07:04 PM:

@Engmec:

but not all dvds are the same. you dont know that 2.5 isn't the more accurate ratio... you just assume it isn't because 2.375 has become the more POPULAR one...

it might be an incorrect ar, but you cant just automatically assume its wrong just because its 640x256.... see what im saying?

I was just presenting the facts, doesn't mean I agree with them.

IMHO, 6% os aspect ratio is not so relevant. And this should be a 3 cd rip (the minimum length rule is just absurd)!
