Yep, agreed, the video quality wouldnt look out of place on a retail DVD, great colours, crystal clear image, no major noise in the image, and even dark scenes are great looking, a couple of wee flaws here and there, but nothing major at all.

Also, English credits and no Cig burns i could find either
This must of been done with a very high quality bit of gear and a brand new print of the movie, as there is also very little dirt on the image too, cant remember the last time i went to the cinema and couldnt help notice all the dirt and crap that was on the print.

Sound on the other hand is crap, tinny as hell, Mono, and ever so slightly out of sync, wish there was a VHS Screener release i could nick the sound from

Ye im taking the audio down to a 6 on this , its pretty crap for a movie that woul;d benefit from some decent audio

Unfortunately the audio is super crap. If it wasn't then this would probably be the best tc I have ever seen, the picture is that good. Close to retail, as mentioned above.

Movie is half-decent.

From watching the first 15mins,

Video - dvd quality, I give it a 10.

Audio - diabolical, sounds like a cam, really spoils the movie! I give it a 3(the others on here are being over generous).

Movie - looks good, 7.5 so far.

My advice, do NOT d/l this copy!

I seriously hope someone takes this video and adds better audio to it. What a total waste of quality video. Wonder how they even released this quality video with that audio quality.

I had been waiting to comment b/c I have been very busy lately.

If they used a telecine, boy did they really use a studio-quality telecine like the kind used often to make films to dvd quality picture.

It's amazing. Too amazing, in fact, for me to believe it's a telecine.

No way, I'm not buying it.

The audio is crisp but just hollow. It's not THAT big of a deal.

If this really is a telecing then whoever authorored it is a master at authoring and every group in the scene will probably want him. This is true 99% DVD quality from the rars I've checked out - btw I have it burned but just haven't bothered to watch anything but a couple rars (Picture wise, that is). I would assume then, that if that's the case, that they would have been able to provide better audio, too. That's the reason I don't believe it's a true TC.

Also, imo, the best TC ever picture-wise was T3. Sorry folks, I truely believe it was and it was a damn SHAME no one ever converted that into a DVDR and we had to settle for SVCD. Who knows how much better it could have been on DVDR. Many will disagree with me but that's okay - I stand my ground firmly that the T3 TC is the best ever.

With that said, and even if you think any other TC is the 'best ever' - if this is a TC - then this is 100x better and makes the other ones look like a CAM.

Seriously... I doubt this is a TS or TC unless someone has the priciest TC equiptment or other equiptment like what the studios use. The scene has never seen such unbelievable picture quality on a non DVD-sourced release - not by FAR.

The picture quality is just flat-out mind-boggling. 99.9% DVD quality IMO, again, I say. No doubt.

I wish porco would weigh in on this one (or more if he already has but I didn't see him say anything - usually he sticks to straight retail dvdrs and only blockbuster titles).

It's hard to believe my eyes when I see this.

Picture quality: 100 out of 10
Audio (for a TC): 7/10 (the only thing that's wrong is it's hollow, really, imo).

I just realised that audio sounds different on my tv vs stereo. On tv it's a clean 0 and real torture but on stereo it's absolutely decent and makes the movie very watchable. Perfect picture, nice movie

Does anyone know how this compares to the TC by NBP. Is the audio in the TC as bad as this one. I noticed the audio got good ratings for the TC.

I'm a novice at this, but can the Audio from the Asteroids Internal Rerip Xvid not be used on the full dvd to give better sound. Or is simpler to convert the Internal Xvid to DVDR?

Excellent Video, audio is okay.
Just a quick question though, Asteroids have brought out a rerip Xvid with better audio, can this audio not be used to imporve the DVD version?

It sounds like shit, seriously!

Best I can think of that they've done is just used the rear speaker sound for the entire movie.

It is tinny as hell.
Picture, however, is amazing!
Now, if we could just get a release with this video & a good audio....
