Video looks pretty good for a dvd5 on a movie this size. The visual effects here really need a dvd9 or 2 dvd5's. I don't think the movie itself is really worth all the extra effort and bandwidth though.

Just reading the nfo gives me a lot of respect for these guys for making such an effort for the few people who dont have dual layer capable drives. I think for a DVD5 it looks quite good! Better than expected at least. Props XP

I took aNBc's dvd9 release and did exactly what XPDVD did except I went one step further. I stripped the end credits. It resulted in an average bitrate of 2918k and it looked pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised.

::EDIT:: Please stick to reviewing the release in question. If anything, this should've been posted in the aNBc release thread - Neversoft::

There's a long discusion on the subject of DL blanks in aNBC DVD-9 thread. Essentially you have to set the 'booktype' to DVD-ROM to enable a DVD+DL to played like a DVD-DL, then go and make coffee while you wait for the layer change

I was perfectly happy with the BoCCA release. If I was downloading today I would probably go for this one instead. There is nothing extra on the DVD-9 which justifies me burning my own DL or shrinking to DVD-5.

Also in my humble opinion this movie is far too violent for children to watch despite its PG-13 rating. It's an old-fashioned movie for older viewers such as myself.

For those of you who don't know how to change the booktype, put a +R/+R DL disc in your burner; open DVD Decrypter/IMG Burn; right click on your burner and select change booktype. Open the tab of your burner make; Top dropdown select +R/+R DL and bottom DVD-ROM. Click on change

Ive never done this and all of my DL burns play in both of my standalones, my PS2, and everyone else's standalones that Ive loaned them to. So what exactly is the point?
