It's very hard to rate this as a picture transfer having never seen the original broadcast. The opening sequence in particular is very pixely and disjointed but it may well have been composed that way? If you ignore the gimmicky presentation the picture is quite good.

By movie standards the soundtrack sucks. It registered as 5.1 on my receiver but sounded more like flat 2.0 stereo with no obvious surround effect or effects channel. I listened to Part 2 through TV speakers and didn't feel I missed anything. Dialogue reproduction was commendably clear which is all that really matters for TV.

Any menu options not available on the disc have been entirely disabled to the point where I thought this might be a custom rather than retail.

The movie itself is watchable even for someone like me who has never seen the previous instalment. The lead actors are reasonably convincing while Robert Wagner adds a touch of class to the whole proceedings.
