not their typical video quality, little too bright, colors seem a bit screwey ... too much blue in the contrast i guess, audio has a kind of echo sound to it as well as being out of sync, also ar seems off like the video is stretched

video - 7 (colors off, too bright, ar seems funky)
audio - 6 (not really sure if its even direct and seems out of sync)
movie - ? still waiting on a good copy

After watching whole release:

Video: 6 - A little washed out & blurry and the AR looks off to me but watchable. Also seems pretty zoomed in too

Audio: 4 - It is direct but its been heavily filtered and it suffers with constant "drop-outs" which became annoying after a while. they can be as regular as every minute in parts.

Movie: 6 - The kids loved it but we all felt like we'd seen it before

your standart are becoming very very low.

This sux0r !

AR is disturbed. The sun looks like an egg. The audio is not "direct line", as they say in info, it's most likely FM receiver source. You can hear a lot of static from time to time. The dialog is clear, but action scenes are garbled due to lack of frequencies to reproduce the whole spectrum of the audio in action scenes. There are a few points it goes out of sync, then comes back. But overall it's better than a microphone source.

Well, what ever it is - it's the best release up to date. Thanks ORC.

7.4 / 6.7 / ?

Posted by motabus on 04-19-2006 08:58 PM:

hey Nick you should supply direct audio. you seem to be the pro LOL

Posted by carbonize on 04-19-2006 09:37 PM:

Have to say since the big bust last year the scene has gone dire and peoples standards seemed to have dropped.

Better than a cam but I'd say this only just passes as a TS.

ps. Would you trust a web host that cannot use a dictionary?

lol nick, your such a smart dude... what do you think direct audio is? I really want to know what your deff is. This is a good release and as far as i could tell, the AR is fine.... (maybe cropped a bit) But other than that this is a solid ts.

7/7/too old for this flick.

Sup man!
Well, I see your point, but if you read my post, you’ll see that we’re on the same side. And it’s right at the end of the post, where it says: “What ever it is - it's the best release up to date. Thanks ORC.” You see? You and I agree on this one.

But if you feel like going into details, fine.
Right in the beginning after “Disney Castle” turns into a Sun disc – its way too stretched. Even in other scenes you can see a hint, that AR is not right. Again, it’s perfectly fine to watch, but it’s there.

Audio quality is a huge problem for all groups lately. Have you noticed that? You’re asking what’s the difference between “direct line” and FM Receiver? While I understand your sarcasm, I’ll try to explain it anyway. Theoretically there should be no difference, both signals coming from a projector room and should be same. But unfortunately, in reality it’s not the case.

When you connect you recorder into “line out” in the projector room, you’ll be able to capture all highs and lows and everything in between. (It has multi channel audio, but it’s manageable to capture anyway). You could even recreate LFE for your home theatre, if you’re not lazy. lol. In other words your recorder captured the whole spectrum of frequencies needed for high quality playback.

Now let see what happened when you record it form your car radio, while drinking beer in the car parked in drive-in movie theatre. The same signal from projector room is transmitted over the air to your car radio, but it sounds completely different now. What happened, why does it sound so bad? Because it was stripped into probably 16 Kbps and poorly transmitted over very limited frequencies channel, that simply cannot carry the whole deepness of the audio in action scenes. It just cuts them off! That’s why action scenes suffer most in latest TS releases. That skinny audio stream simply doesn’t have enough data to make your speakers do something meaningful. Not to mention radio static noise. But it has more or less enough data for dialog scenes. To put it simple way: it’s so much disfigured in the process of delivery to your radio, that it would be shame to compare it to real “direct line” source which I described above. And probably on the top of that, the guy’s radio is not so good also, or he doesn’t come close enough to theatre and records from a distance. Not to pay an entrance ticket. That is possible too. Or may be theatre’s equipment is not adjusted right, or too old – it could be many reasons why it comes out bad…

Again, I repeat this is the best release up to date and kids will love it! Don’t get me wrong.

May be there are other reasons for all that. And other people may have different point of view – it’s fine with me. Let them express it here. I respect it.

All right T-H-E-W-H-O, you have a good one.

Well it appears you have a good sense of what your talking about. I cant disagree with you there, however, in the scene, its to my understanding that audio from an FM reciever (drive in audio) is also considered direct line. And you did do a good job rating the rls, i wasnt trying to start a flame thread. Its all good.

Yes, you got it right, motabus, I edit videos for a living. How did you figure that out? You are good! But what makes you think that I have a "direct audio" for them to supply?

Posted by JayZ2129 on 05-06-2006 05:55 AM:

Video: 7 - very watchable, kids will be satisfied with this one until DVD rls.

Audio: 5 - it seems like direct but it sound almost muffled

Movie: 6 - as said before ... felt like I have seen it before..
