you could say i was loyal to the playstation line up... had several psx's and even a chipped up ps2... but the psp was out of my price range and the ps3 costs the same as the other two systems put together.
its either the 360 for me, or the wii for my family (i'm sure my son will be able to play by next spring)...

Fionn....
You should be ashamed. What a retarded question.
Of course it should be the Wii.
Ask Shn.
as a 360 owner, Ive enjoyed the games Ive got on there, tactical shooters like Ghost Recon are great fun and also Chrome Hounds looks interesting. Gears of War is also an exciting prospect.
This combined with the fact that homebrew seems to be around the corner on the 360 would make me advise you to buy that.
Though the wii has a lot of potential, the graphics may seem rather flat and dissapointing as has been reported with that truck game and also initial hands on with games such as red steel and its control system have proven to be dissapointing and it may be worth waiting for the developers to iron out all the kinks. (Though red steel appears to be going through a major overhaul fo controls)
As for PS3, its too highly priced and as has been said before, the asking price is equal to both consoles put together
oh......wait, I wasn't looking for advice. I have my mind made up already.
Just wondering what everyone else would do. I'm getting the Wii but I'll buy the 360 as well if they develop homebrew for it.
If I could buy only one, it would be the Wii.
I'll get a Wii for sure.
I MIGHT get a PS3. But only because its cheaper than buying a blu ray player!

Nintendo Wii. without question. It's the only true next gen machine. The rest are just power upgrades. Big whoop.
Wii has an incredible line up and looks amazing fun. Definitely the machine you want to bring out when you have friends over for beers. Imagine it now, guzzle a few beers with friends and spend the rest of the evening leaping over furniture to reach the ball in a Wii tennis game.
Lovely!

ps3.
nintendo has too many kiddy games.

who cares if they have "too many" Kiddy games. it could be 75% kid games but if the 25% of other games are quality for adults, it shouldn't really matter.
but i'm sold on Wii. nothing else comes close
wii is a fun gimmick, but its a gimmick system at the end of the day. i'll get one, but i wouldn't have it as my only console. no way.
i have the 360 because
1. its out, the other two aren't
2. there's enough decent games to last me
3. the games that are good look fricking beautiful, and blow the other formats versions of them out the water (fight night, graw etc etc)
4. the system design is fantastic
chromehounds doesn't look all that btw, i have the demo and played for a few minutes and just decided i didn't care. im not the only one to think this. Lost Planet demo is insanely awesome.

<Dwaggy> i caught you a delicious Bass
<The404> This is because you are an idiot
GRAW is fun, very tactical but engaging. Looking at COD2 for online element
What i'm lookin for in a console is something fun, just a cnsole and nothing more..something that you can pick up and play for 1/2 - 1 hour with a few mates , then put it down. Don't really have the time anymore to sit down for hours and hours playing a 1 player game.
Wii seems to have that social fun factor. Or it could be the genius marketing that has us all sucked in
Proof will be in the pudding!
The Ps3 and the Wii for me.

the most fun i've had with a social game, other than goldeneye (obviously a contender) and a slew of street fighters and killer insticts was a game for the xbox called "kung fu theater" or something to that effect. very easy, very addictive 4 player nuttiness.
