Awesome to see that they left the "Choose Their Fate!" extra option!

Posted by Beanz on 07-08-2006 11:25 PM:

Awesome release as always from Replica. Everything is beautiful.
The Choose Their Fate option is fun as hell. The option I chose for the girls in the tanning beds was a nice different outcome...lol.

Video-9.5
Audio-9.5
Movie-8

My copy glitches at chapter 14. Actually froze up on my computer, had to burn to dvd and play it on set-top. On set top player, it froze for about two seconds then continued.

As far as the choose their fate deal, I only checked out one part <spoiler>and it only affected whether the birds got killed by the nail gun or not.</spoiler> The main characters weren't effected at all.

The first two movies were way better than this one.

8/9/5

Soo.... seeing as how no matter what you pick you get to see them both, what order should we pick? The first one I belive was tails to see them both? Next one?

Posted by biggbyte on 07-09-2006 08:10 PM:

excellent job. the "choose your fate" extra is nothing spectacular, but it was cool that they kept it in there.

the audio is Dolby Digital EX, so if you use surround back speakers you get an extra channel of audio. this disc really sounded good. it ain't DTS, but DTS takes up alot of room, the video bitrate would have suffered a bit. DD EX is plenty for me.

movie is what you would expect from another sequel to FD... pretty lame but worth watching once.

i'm having problems with this dvd in playback - it keeps pausing at sections of the film

Posted by cadillact on 07-09-2006 11:43 PM:

Well I have a picky player as well

without choose their fate option. I have one freeze for about half a sec or less in the whole movie. Its is when they leave the police station.

I have not tested on my second dvd player(apex) but that one rarely have any freezes at all.

this would be a good release if it didn't pause and stutter like a sonofabitch where the "choose your fate" selections are meant to be. even when I played it mounted with daemon tools.

ripped the movie VOBs, reauthored and burnt a "movie only" copy. now it's watchable.

9/10/7.5

the actual release get a 5 for structure/playback problems

Posted by akasmiler on 07-10-2006 02:57 PM:

tried it on 2 players now and still freezes like water all over the spot

will eventually get around to sorting it

Posted by LakersFan on 07-10-2006 06:49 PM:

Are the playback problems occuring only in the "Choose Your Fate" option, or do they occur in the theatrical release as well?

Posted by jdno7 on 07-10-2006 07:54 PM:

Video- 10 Overall good job nice that they kept the the choose your own fate
Audio-9 Would have been a 10 but DTS was ripped
Movie- 6 Pure Popcorn

I had playback issues when rewinding after a choose your own fate option happened on 2 players. The one a Sony just hard-lock ups which I have never seen before so I had to reset it. The other a Pansonic would skip if I picked right at the carnivale scene.
