compared to maVenssupplier's release and this release, ORC did a really good camera job. bright colors

as it was said in the nfo they had to change the tapes while recording. wondering how much is missing of the movie.

the sound is hollow too much basses.
it is cam audio.

please dub it with a decent audio source!

by watching the sample

Based on sample: 8/7/?

Video would be lower rated if this wasn't animated. A bit too soft for my eyes but like I said ok for animation. Sound is above average for cam. I hate Richard Linklater movies and didn't care for Waking Life (other movie he did in this style of animating over filmed live action), but the story intrigues me on this one so I'll watch it later this week.

Nice job, guys. I know this is one release a lot of groups were hoping to pre based on the buzz I've been seeing about the movie online.

8/7/

well done cam, usually for animated movies cam can look pretty decent. Mos def watchable.
Thanks ORC

very good video

Nice audio

8/7/?

I wish SVCD would fuck off and die

picture looks pretty good

v:8 A:7

i agree, SVCD is a retarded mpeg-2 codec thats past its time. one great thing about xvid is half the file size and same quality.

Posted by MTW on 07-23-2006 05:17 PM:

Did any of you watch beyond the sample?

At the start of the movie, the W logo (which is normally centered) is cut off the screen.

The same applies to everything else. The release is missing most of the bottom of the screen.

the colour and audio is nice and would rate
vid 8
audio 7

but it is very cropped, a lot of the time in a dialogue you only get the nose up,
so
vid 5
audio 7

due to the over crop

i have to agree would be very nice but for it being way too much over cropped at the bottom

lets hope orc can get there act together and do a repak and sort this out

I don't see how the audio is above average for a cam. I mean, You, Me and Dupree had a lot less tin or echo in it. The video is very nice with good color, but audio makes me not sure if this is truly better then the previous release.

V-7.5

dont know exactly how much is cut but i did compare it to the online trailer. it looked like the bottom half is cut and some of the left side is too.

movie-6 (almost half of it is cropped)
audio-6 (average cam quaility)
Movie-?

Posted by spaceballsrul on 07-23-2006 08:16 PM:

This is exactly the same as the mavensupplier release. Same a/r and quality.

Audio: 6
Video:6
Movie: ??

waaaaayyy to over cropped... but its a great picture... From what i saw, audio is clear and crisp

V-5 (too overcropped)
A-8
M ? didnt watch it all

Thumbs down

okish vid but the audio is terrible....very painful to listen to.

Posted by Funkyjuice on 07-23-2006 11:25 PM:

6 for pic - quality is much better than Maven in this but it is way way way too cropped

4 for sound - Sound is very poor compared to original maVen release, tinny AND muffled.

Wish they could have just mixed maVen and ORC release.. it would be damn fine...

wait for the next release

Posted by spaceballsrul on 07-24-2006 12:13 AM:

Same as the mavensupplier release.
i compared them side by side.
Even the audio is the same.

V-6 (due to crop)

Video was good, clean, minimal motion blur. Although it was terribly cropped. I would have to guess half the screen is missing. Not too noticable in panned out shots, but close ups it is painfully obvious.

Audio is decent, alittle on the bassy side IMO.

Movie is superb. Acting was believable and animators are top notch. I really enjoy this type of genre.

interesting intro with the maven + orc iCAM 2006 all homemade, confirms what we had been seeing with click... as for the release, it is cropped badly as you can tell from the opening credits, and has a slight fishbowl effect, however once the film gets going you cant notice it. the video is nice, much more colorful then mavensuppliers, but the audio is kinda low and hollow, but definitely watchable. suprising they didnt wait to get direct with this.

you my friend are an idiot. Please know what your talking about before you speak.

Posted by psxotaku on 07-24-2006 02:10 PM:

Sorry, but this release is cropped to hell. The Mavensupplier release may have a slightly less clearer picture, but at least half of the bottom and most of the left aren't cut off.

Most dialogue scenes are cut off and you only miss the bottom half of the face.

Need a proper

V: 5 (cropped to shit)
A: 7
M: 9 (very thought provoking)
