it's actually a screener
Tideland.2005.DVDSCR.DiRFiX.NFOFiX.XViD-D0PE
smells fishy
Imdb tech specs for this movie give the AR as 2.35:1, but the nfo gives 1.77 as the AR.
Only thing I can guess is that they cropped top and bottom of a 4:3 to make it appear widescreen.
RE: Screener?
Follow up to my last post, re cropping:
It now turns out that there is a Russion retail version with AR of 1.78. So I think, maybe, it is NOT a screener, but a full super-35 intended to be masked to 2.35 for theatrical showing.
I have watched part of it and it is quite good visually and audio-wise. I don't know the rating system that well, but I'd say 9 and 9.
From the Russian DVD Specs: WideScreen 16:9 (1.78:1).
