Im dissapointed XPDVD, and surely this should be nuked too, as it definetly needs a proper.

"For non-English movies, the movie's original language audio
stream must be kept unless it is not contained in the retail."

Unfortunately this isn't the first time they didn't include the original language track. First time being Howl's Moving Castle (well, wasn't my cup of tea, but still I hate dubs).

Hope to see a "proper" myself, or I'll just copy the damn DVD-9 in the store. But that's a luxury people not from North America don't have (hmm, working on my double negatives ).

Untouched video IS nice though... Would have been the perfect release if it had the Frenchie track.

If you enjoyed this movie, check out Wasabi. Also a French Luc Besson flick (comedy/action).

I agree with both of you guys, french audio please, proper this, and this movie is not long so french track wouldn't hurt much the video quality anyway

Well after grabbing the whole thing, cause i was curious, i have to re-evaluate my ratings.

Video quality isnt as good as the French DVDR which was out over a year ago, and that had French 5.1 and a great French DTS track, all on an Untouched DVD5.

The dubbing is awful, no were near looking synched, and a terrible mixture of dodgy accents from around the world.

Think i will take the English 5.1 out of this and synch it with the French DVDR, and make an nice wee Custom DVDR which would have English AC3 5.1, French DTS and Superior Untouched Video, so at least i can say thanks for the Audio XPDVD.

After watching half of it

One thing about watching a subbed movie is the subs distracts you from watching the picture. Sure love stories are ok, but action i'll take dubbed any day.

Posted by me-self on 09-01-2006 09:37 PM:

Dude is you have seen the dudded version then its horrible, the voice overs are like a badly dubbed porno, seriously, i got the sample from the practice dub and it was full of cockneys and they did a v bad job and it puts you off more then the subs do, not sure if the USA version is any different but it would think it the same, get the xvid dvdrip and subs and merge em and re-encode and convert/burn to dvd, i was guna do that but the audio goes out of sync for some reason.

Bunch of knob jockeys for stripping the FR audio and ENG subs.

Beh, i'll buy the DVD anyway, brilliant movie.

This, however, is a shit scene release of it.

Posted by kling0n on 09-04-2006 06:40 AM:

this rlz warrants a proper. original audio + subs are the only way to watch foreign films.

ou812, you couldnt be more wrong. dubs distract you from the movie because it is so unnatural. lips dont match up, and tone of voice doesnt match facial expression appropriately. no authentic french accents either.

Shame, shame, shame.

As said enough times - should be nuked just for taking out the original soundtrack! The film quality is very good but no better than the original DVDrip of a year ago. The group's aim seems to be to get a top quality "English" version out... and I'm sure it will go down well with those that want it.

Personally, I find that the choice of talent used to do the voice-overs does kind of ruin it. American/English accents, not even French accents and... well, I suppose mixing US and UK accents might be an attempt to mirror the ethnic diversity of modern-day Paris (let alone the France of the future). But, for me, it all just goes to make it cheesy and cheap.

Good try but not really my cup of tea, "versione originale" with proper English subs would have gone down much better. Think I'll have to buy this.

So...

A: 7 (because the accents really annoy me)

V: 10 (couldn't do better)

M: 10 (parcours rules)

So don't give me any of that whining crap about not criticising groups' releases. If you want to waste your time, bandwidth and media on the latest POS why bother reading this forum? As a discerning consumer I like to avoid crap, so thanks to those with the honesty to tell it like it is.

Wish they'd proper this, sucks when they leave dodgy dubbed english audio, if anything these should be stripped in the interest of all that is holy. I'd rather have the 118 team singing a dodgy pr0n soundtrack.
