-- Way to submit missing releases? (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=71887)

Question Way to submit missing releases?

Is there a way for users to submit, or at least request, info for releases that aren't on the site?

There seem to be some missing, old and new alike.

Could be nice if users could submit info, or request/flag missing releases to be filled by admins or other users.

Why stupid? I'm not talking about releases from a few days ago that are missing, but ones that are months and years old. Do you find anything wrong with completeness?

Nice Avatar image, btw.

There will be a "solution" to this when the new site is launched... We don't know what it is yet and it may not be added straight away but we realise that people sometimes pick up "non-scene" stuff from P2P/usenet etc that doesn't suck - as evidenced by the number of groups downloading it and trying to release the fucker as their own

I was actually referring to very much "scene" stuff, from known groups, that is missing.

But otherwise widening the covered material, in addition, is also welcome.

Well, the submission system wont discriminate so you can submit missing scene stuff too... Anything submitted will be looked into and possibly put on the site

Actually it's not that bad of an idea...I mean besides all the ''non'' scene bs..cause having a look theirs abt 5 releases in the past 2 days which have not even made the listing on vcdq

Ah... silly scene. Times change but not the "rules". Not really sure how this whole thing works, but sense it does not make.

At least there's a relative proliferation of non-scene releases that make available better encodings. Hey, even h264 is on!

Does this submission system exist as of yet?

I've searched the forums on "missing" and "updates" and I am trying to figure out what to do with a few unaccounted releases.

The current impression I'm getting (per: READ THIS: this section is NOT for "filling in the blanks") is that you don't want them???

No, there is a new server coming online soon. Once that happens, we can start reviewing the old design and look to make some changes/improvements. I know you've all been hearing that for years but this time we've got everybody onboard and a new coder lined up.

So "on board" are we this time that Vampire and myself regularly use management bullshit-speak in messages... Although we're yet to get the word "holistic" into an exchange but it'll happen

But yes, it's not just words, we are updating... We just move at speeds on a par with continental drift.

I don't suppose, that in the meantime, you guys would consider one sticky thread per release type where users could post a scene release that goes unaccounted for after say... 2-3 days?

Better just to post in the IRC channel (not the announce one). If it gets annoying or out of hand or someone posts non-scene release they'll just be banned.
