179 gbp thats pretty cheap, well compared to the xbox when it was launched and the ps3's planned price .

This should be a big seller at christmas

yeah and it has the same specs as those 2 consoles too:
- HD video, 5.1 sound
- dvd/blu-ray player
- brand new and powerful cpu and graphical card

this just looks like a modified gamecube with some wifi, bluetooth and 2 usb ports.
graphics might not be the most important part of games but i'm fed up having N64-like blurry pixel blocks filling up my TV.

btw, i'm buying one, so this was more a rant against the price being stupid (the gamecube was cheaper at launch) than about the console itself.

COBBLERS!

Nintendo admittedly make "cute" (well, Japanese-y) games but they're not really kids games and they have playability by the boatload. Sony games often look/sound "hip" but play like shit.

You'd probably prefer to play Tomb Raider 29 in which you have to run about, climb stuff, make impossibly accurate jumps and stare at some CGI titties for kicks... I'd rather smash my head into a brick wall until gold coins fly out any day of the week.

i dunno neversoft did make staring at those tittie's sound fun....

i think nintendo will have a few more games that arnt kiddie like, because the gamecube had been getting alot of adult aimed games like , need for speed ,ghost recon , resident evil , we know that red steel is gonna be released for it the Wii which doesnt look like a kids game i think we will see a wide range of games avaliable within 6 ,months of the release of the console

There is only 2 games I would buy the Wii for at launch, and that would be Zelda, as im a huge fan of Zelda, since it came out way back when on the original nintendo. The other game would prolly be Red Steel cuz that game just looks badass to me..

But im sorry, I just dont like the design of the controllers, if I wanted to sit there a point a "TV LIKE REMOTE" at the tv for hours, i'd sit in front of the TV flippin channels..
