From sample, it looks good.

8/7/?

Colors are a little dull. Slight flicker. Audio seemed direct.

As good as TS's get i guess. On par with their The Covenant TS
Looks like HafVCD and ORC could moving into maVens shoes if they keep up these quality rlses.

Based on TS standard

V 8.5
A 8
M ?

Thx for rlse guys keep up the good work, best rlses around at moment.

grabbed the orc release, picture is pretty nice, especially considering standards set recently, audio to me sounds rather tinny but definitely clear. grab this one for sure.

8.5/8

and I scream at the sky
Every day I ask myself why?
So much pain pouring
from inside
Above me I feel the spirit fly

What about the 15 other major releases??

Sucks, the limited amount of movies that are bootlegged in good quality these days. When we do get good quality, its a copy of a movie nobody in the theatre wanted to see.

This copy...pretty good for a movie i never heard of...kinda dark 7/8/

Based on the sample and the standard

This rls and the simultaneous ORC rls are pretty much identical in quality. And that is very high.

V 8

A 7.5

M ? Will view the ORC rls for the simple reason it's 40% smaller. This movie sure cost a lot of money to make. Let's hope it's good.

I love the fact were back to recent TSs and this is a great version.
Video is clean with good colors. Audio, hey it's direct and it's clear, I can't ask for anything else...except the popcorn.

V-8
A-8
M-8

Based on the ORC release, video is very nice for a TS slight brown tint, but very clear.

Audio is direct, but with some static on the high end & a few cracks and pops throughout.

Overall very nice first release (and a TS at that)

As a TS
V=8
A=7
M= Still watching (looks good though)

v- 7.5 very green ...
a - 6 not sure but wierd effect , low volume and fades in and out to point where cant even hear voices , then all of sudden can hear voices etc etc see 1-45 mins where he shoots light down there voices even go off all together .
(even orc rls same) same on pc and standalone

Don't get all happy about this one, it's not that good.

V/6

A/4 There is a limiter, or noise gate filter on here that ruins the whole movie. The gate closes up too soon making dialog inaudible.

M/7 That's only because I know the story, and like the old hollywood setting.

Posted by MonsterMan on 09-23-2006 03:25 AM:

Still havent seen this one. So is it really THAT much better than the ORC release?

Posted by Dczing on 09-23-2006 07:00 PM:

I'm still looking for this one, its real hard to find. Is it even worth the time?

Posted by betelgeus on 09-24-2006 07:51 AM:

seriously overrated,as with any telecine lately,considering the quality of pic on garfield 2,this is 5/4/?.lack of any quality releases and new reviewers bumping up merely average releases,personaly both this and the covenant are not worth the download let alone a rave.

p.s. people rushing in to get first post havent even watched a scene i bet they just saw a jpeg.please the ratings are to help others not im first and im cool.

Cheers

V= 6

M= cant wait to see it..great story

I assume the HafVCD and ORC releases are the same. Judging by the ORC release, I agree with the noise gate comment, even the beginning of some dialogue is barely audible, and the whole movie sounds muddy. Vid's a bit cropped, and not too impressive. A lot of DePalma purists rave about how every scene in this is "shot beautifully" but is pretty lost on this version.
6/4/7 (pretty faithful to the book, a little too jumpy to the big screen, though)

Posted by Dczing on 10-02-2006 04:11 PM:

HafVCD and ORC are both really bad, they do look the same in quality. I'm hopeful for a watchable release but wont count on it.
Thanks for the attempts though.
