What about subtitles for the French and Latin sequences? Do they appear where they are supposed to appear?

EDIT: Answering my own question, apparently not. If you haven't already seen an english version, some sequences wil make no sense at all

yet another NON R1 release.

still awaiting a R1 NTSC release.

I'll wait for a R1. This one ought to be nuked for being undersized anyway.

Then again it leaves room for someone to add an english translation of the foreign dialogue

Besides another non R1 release, this is undersized!!

cant ou just use ifoedit to make it region-free?

Posted by toddvj on 09-24-2006 06:04 PM:

It's not that it isn't region free. It's that it wasn't originally R1. The languages and subtitles are all asian. There is English language, and English Subtitles, but they don't work like they should. You can leave the subtitles on the entire time, including
English speaking parts, or you can leave subs off and not understand what they are saying on the French speaking parts.

Generally speaking, most people would rather have the subs off until they need translation of the foreign languages.

Well, it may not be good enough for all you fine folk, but it was just great for me. I burned it and watched it just nice on my 55" sony.

I do not need subtitles. The french speaking stuff is only 10 maybe 15 minutes of the movie. I understand enough france french to get by.

I guess thats the bonus of being Canadian, you have to learn two languages.

Overall, def buy when released.

It also has a much-discussed glitch which can kill playback on certain players. See the other thread for details.
