Sci-Fi channel

I've watched about three shows off the sci-fi channel (downloaded them). Taken, Earthsea, and now Eureka.

Common for all of them: the video quality sucks! It's so blurry, like an old VHS tape. Why is that? Why always with scifi channel?

The level of blurryness is directly proportional to the amount of suck.
