I get a problem when running this through vobblanker

error in vob 3 reached end of file too early.

Same thing here. Here's what to do to fix:

-Extract with DVD Decrypter
-Run all files through FixVTS
-Test by opening up with PGCEdit to see if there are any errors
-Either burn with Nero or make it an ISO and burn with ImgBurn

Worked fine for me.

Being a little harsh on Scream, this was an easy mistake to have made. They just need to remember to reopen a DVD in PGCEdit before saving it again, if the VOBs have changed!

The VTS_3_0.vob is there and is ripped correctly but it's IFO doesn't match, it won't affect playback though as this set of VOBS was a feature of some sort and are bypassed correctly.

All I did to fix it was open it with DVD Remake then export it. After that dvd shrink didnt show any errors and it played flawlessly in my oppo and my sony.

Posted by ntscuser on 10-15-2006 03:19 AM:

Took forever to load on my "windows friendly" DVD player. Once loaded the movie played fine after another long delay (yes I know). Not that I care. This "animation" sucks. The graphics are crude, the characterisation is poor and voiceovers inapproriate. I've seen better animation on TV any morning of the week.

It was inevitable that someone like Spielberg and Zemeckis would eventually experiment with motion capture but having seen the results I wished they hadn't bothered. Live actors and true animators have nothing to fear from this piece of crap.

I'd still like to thank Scream for saving me the expense of viewing this movie any other way. They are doing the public a service.

although i didn't have playback issues, i ran this rls through dvdshrink and dvdremake there are errors in vob 1 and 3 showing. i did the above comment and the error was gone in dvdshrink, but in dvdremake the vobs are still showing in RED.

peace.

To fix, I just ran it through FixVTS - There is a slight pause on startup on DVD player as it searches through the various parts that have been removed. As the menu only gives you the extra option of selecting audio & subs (no extras at all) I decided to bypass the menu structure any keep the film only.
It then goes straight into play - audio & subs can be selected via the player remote control.
A great rip - Thanks Scream I've been waiting for this one since seeing it at the cinema.

Scream get their name due to what they must be doing right now - lol
Why are they fluffing nearly all their releases at the moment?
The DVD plays fine (for me anyways) but there is an issue with the missing vob.
Its easily correctable with vob-blanker, which makes me wonder why Scream have balls this up?
Any noob can make a decent job using vob-blanker & all the other FREE rip/vob tools - so why cant the dude (or dudess) who's authoring these get it right?

Apart from the little hic up with the missing vob, which im sure a patch will be released for, its a good rip, but could've been 100% with a little more effort

V 10
A 10
M 9 (scared the crap out of the kids)
Rip 8

Can we add a new score for the job of the authoring/ rip?

Scream do a fantastic job for the scene, sometimes we all forget that fact - Im grateful for anything thats put out by the groups, because they dont have to do it, do they?
So why all the abuse thrown at the groups in these & other forums?
If i were a scream or any other group member, I'd think twice about giving the scene ANYTHING in future due to all the ungrateful whingers.
People whine & moan about this & that, but what do these people expect?
A money back garuntee?
Dream on!

this really aint a bad rip granted it does have a slight flaw but you shouldnt have to fix it if you just burn the img with imgburn there is no need for dvdshrink scaning or dvd remake etc.

however it can be fixed quite easily in under 5 mins

Extract the files to a folder, or mount the img.
Load the files in to VobBlanker and hit ok when it complains about VTS_03.
this part can be done 1 of two ways depending on whether its extracted or mounted.
extracted: "use input folder" ticked skip everything other then vts_03 then double click on the menu titleset (top section) and delete everything other than cells 8 and 9.
thats it hit process and when it finishes with 1 warning you can ignore it as its only about no nav packs being found as its blanked it wont make any odds.

mounted: as above but leave everything else set to process and set a output folder.

Bypassing that lag is actually a little more difficult, if you even open the files and save them using pgcedit making no changes it knocks about 200kb off the file size making a ppf impossible. im working on doing it manually but lack of patience aint helping.

V= 7
A= 9
M= ? not watched it yet
