Based on the sample it seems like a very nice cam.

looks like they goofed on something in this release. the picture is 2.74:1 and looks squished.

there are black bars on the video so maybe it was suppose to be anamorphic stretched from 448x240 to 448x336.
it does look better AR wise when i make it 448x336, and at that point with the black bars on the video it comes out to about 1.96:1

Posted by sloppysally on 10-30-2006 01:26 AM:

not a bad first release i guess....
6/6/8 saw in theaters, and it gets better as the sequals go on in imho

Posted by bobbish on 10-30-2006 02:11 AM:

Same sort of problem with some of XanaX's previous releases. If you use MPEG4Modifier, change the display AR to 4:3 and it'll correct the AR to how it should be.

As far as quality (after the fix), it seems ok. Audio is understandable but a bid quiet, but video is ok considering it's a dark movie. There's also something covering the bottom right of the screen.

Posted by lodem on 10-30-2006 02:40 AM:

Let's see. For this movie we have so far releases from XanaX, FLAMES, CAMERA, MegaGun, OBSESSION, LibriuM, DiNATY and JAwS. And they all have something in common. Ugly. The range for video quality is between 1 to 4. JAwS takes the prize for the worst. Not only blurry, grainy and pixilated, but with a horrible flicker as well. The best is XanaX. Slightly less blurry, grainy and pixilated then the rest. And no more. Audio is cam quality. Maybe something a little better for some. But who cares about audio if you can't watch the movie?

V 4

A 5

M ? God only knows when we will get something watchable

"Audio is cam quality"

then this should be nuked for cam audio. one of the major things with a telesync is the audio must be direct

....What are you talking about? This is totally TS quality audio. You can't hear anyone in the theatre.

BTW...Why is everyone rating this so poorly. It's a very nice TS. Audio and video both are really good. Although there are some seens where the video is kinda dark, but overall good TS.

errrrr, didn't he say cam quality, he didn't say, this is cam audio, just that it sounds like a cam.

Still waiting for good quality copy. Hopefully soon

[NUKED] bad.res_bad.ar_uncropped_downsampled.audio

Haven't seen it myself but I'm wondering what else could possibly be wrong with it.

hmm, firstly jaws and megagun are very simple re encods and there is no pretention that they arent becuase they are known for the re encods for the sites they are on.

funny thing at the bottom right for about 3 mins.
after 23 minutes the top screen comes down a little to make the ar even worse.
the audio goes out of sync just after th screen comes down by about 91ms.
and the brightn ess even if it was upped a bit, the film is still too dark..... kinda reminds me of DOOM when that came out

Posted by lodem on 10-30-2006 01:50 PM:

Thanks for the info on jaws and megagun. Iwasn't sure what they were but I know now.

Posted by Exhumed on 10-30-2006 10:39 PM:

I watched the first 5-10 minutes or so. Far too dark to enjoy; you can hardly make out what is happening in the dark scenes.

i was going to ask how to fix the audio, but i may aswell just wait for a telecine or dvd screener .. since it is coming to be that time of year

out of curiousity tho, how would i go about fixing the audio and how much time do i need to adjust between the audio and video sync. a friend wants me to burn him a copy

haha...What are you talking about? The movie has only been out 3 days.

I agree totally with what's been said. Not one enjoyable release of Saw III yet, keep your pants on for a decent release.

What time of year is it? Halloween? And this is not the doom9 forum, asynced audio is not so simple to fix, nor is this cam worth it.

well if you open your damned eyes you would see my comment above yours which would give you the info needed.

but like ive stated even as i corrected the audio where it firsts goes out of sync, the audio like 20 mins later goes out then back in and does the hokie pokie dance

Posted by Kluster on 10-31-2006 04:10 PM:

What i can say is that the picture is very dark. The audio is pretty good for a TS.

V = 4
A = 6
