Video quality a fair bit better than the Spanish release,(obvious re-encode) and the audio a great improvement. Subtitles are better but its a pity there are so many missing!! If you really cant hang on any longer, this is the one to see.

v7
a 8

Posted by BiggD23 on 11-28-2006 03:13 PM:

Let's start with the easy part...

V (strictly video): 8
A: 8

Now onto the subtitles. It's a joke that mVs talks the shit they do in their nfo about the translated subtitles in the previous release and then releases this, which is arguably worse. Not only are TONS of the subtitles missing, the ones that are there aren't even correct. I've seen the movie in the theater and I'm 100% certain of this. And was it necessary to black out the entire bottom of the screen with every subtitle? Spend 5 minutes (probably less) with vobsub and you can figure out how to do a nice rectangle and put it wherever you want on the screen. Oh and the subtitles are completely out of sync too, they're probably about 2 full seconds late and some of them flash by so fast that you can't even read them.

Just an awful release.

I notice that a couple of posts ago someone mentioned that there is due to be a R5 release next week.

How do you find out about upcoming releases ??

I only seem to find out about them through VCD quality and releaselog. But normally there is always a better release a week or so later.

This movie is scheduled for rls in R5 so I doubt we will be seeing a TC/UNMASTER DVD anytime soon. But will probally be a DVDSCR soon, Cohen has already won an award from the Khazakhs (even though the film was banned as it is in most of R5).

the subs are super annoying, i would pass on this rls

Posted by vurtX on 11-28-2006 04:26 PM:

video = 6 - seems worse than the MRniceguy release, AR is correct though, but the subs are far worse, timing is way out, some are missing, how mavensupplier have the cheek to slag off mrniceguys subs is laughable.

audio = 8, clear & good enough,

movie = 8 a laugh a minute, very rare these days .. but go for borat SVCD mrniceguy, a better release than this.

If you are going to talk as much shit as these guys do, at least back it up with quality releases.

Posted by pHo on 11-28-2006 11:10 PM:

here's a tip: autofocus OFF.

also if you're going to pop up black rectangles at random to cover things up, you forgot to crop one of the visita blackdivx tags...

I watched this on the TV (fast forwarded through most of it, as I saw it in the threater and watched the other release).

Anyhow, this is the best release out of all the ones to date. The video is fair, could be better, but for a release like this the audio is more important. Plus the quality of the film to start with is kind of poor (at the theater) as part the movie itself (documentry from a 2nd world nation).

Audio is far better on this release, it's clear and easy to understand. The last release was ok, but over amplified and the audio would fade in and out constantly.

Of all the releases this is the one to get until someone does a good TC.
