Very nice indeed, I watch the XVID yesterday and now I am watching this release as we speak.

BTW, this is not a re-encode, this is a compress DVD of the original. It has the FBI warning page, warnings, and the "For your Consideration" page.

Also, there are chapter-points every 5-6 minutes. Also, no screw-ups in audio nor video as in the XVID release yesterday.

EDIT: Yes, its NTSC...I am watching it on my standalone that only plays NTSC.

EDIT 2: There is some digital pixelations at 48:08, but it does not knock the audio out of sync.

V: 10
A: 10
M: 9

someone else said that the video glitch is still there, so thats not true?

Maven stealer.. err supplier... whatever they wish to be called these days, is just a re-encode p2p group. These guys have NO SOURCES and deserve NO PROPS. They are WORSE than russian silver groups because these guys don't even acknowledge they steal from p2p and other groups. Seen it countless times. All they did for this release was encode it to DVDR, clip out 46:54 and sync the audio to that. Wow, isn't maven stealer special...

Effort -0
Props - 0

Movie... it works but missing 1 second...

Honestly, who cares about p2p? Skip the scene drama and just enjoy the fucking movie.

V: 7 (obvious compression and minor artifacting on my 32" Westy LCD. Still amazing quality 48 hours after theatrical release)
A: 9 (The 5.1 surround is as good as it gets. Fully in sync too, unlike previous XviD releases)
M: 8 (It's no Rocky III but it's good to see the old guy back in action. Looking forward to the final Rambo as well)

Just checked your theroy, Jc100 and I have checked both the XVID and the DVDr at the time you said, and there is not a second missing. I have checked both very carefully and no second is missing. You must have blinked or something.

Anyways, I agree with xiaNaix, quit making scene drama. Be grateful for a DVDr of this release before XMAS.

I played the DVD in WinDVD. It goes from 46:53 to 45:55 so maybe the app doesn't like this or more clearly, they clipped the bad frames, re-encoded it to dvdr, and released it. Argue if you wish, but I gurantee you that's what they did.

Posted by xiaNaix on 12-23-2006 12:04 AM:

You probably got one of the numerous "fixed" DivX to DVD encodes that made the rounds last night. Make sure you have this release because I didn't notice any problems either.

hmm, does your copy have the FBI warning page, the other govt. warnings, and for your consideration at the beginning of the disc? Just wanna make sure you are on the same release as we are.

I converted the first fixed avi to dvd and it looked better than this ... however it went out of sync, and this one doesn't. So thanks for Rocky.

6/9/?

Posted by Jc100 on 12-23-2006 02:42 AM:

I got this exact copy. TRUST ME. I watched it in WINDVD and it skips from 46:53 to 46:55. I dont got some knock off someone else did. I got this exact release from mvs and I notice this EXACT problem. Simply put, they clipped the bad frames, encoded it to DVD from divx, using a sync fix.....

It has the warnings, and all to go with it.....

Instead of arguing where this came from how about some honest review from people who have watched it.

Does this have black and white scenes or scrolling messages?

Exactly. The sample is horribly pixelated. Haven't watched the whole thing so I won't rate it, though.

This movie has been getting good reviews, think I'll try to go see it at the theater this weekend.

No B&W scenes, until the end, which are there for artistic value. A "property of MGM" pops up once in a while, but hardly noticeable.

@Jc100, you need to get a new program to watch dvds, it is not missing a second. You blink to long at that moment.

Why go see it at the theatres if we already got a DVDSCR ?
