is this just another xvid converted to dvd by mvs? what's their deal? i wish someone with the actual source would release these new sceeners in dvdr version.

V: 7 - something looks strange about it like its undersized or something but i dont know exactly... Has 3 lines of of watermarked text with no blurs noticable since I believe the bottom is blacked out, it does not come up often at all and no B&W scenes that I could see ( I FF'd through the whole movie)

A: 8 - sounds nice, nothing wrong in sample so I cant say if the whole movie is in sync

M: N/A but it looks good

^^Gee, you think maybe it's undersized?

Anyway, the strangest thing about this release is that there are two titles, kind of a weird structure for a DVD, Plus the two titles match up exactly to the two CDs of the XVID version.

This couldn't be a re-encode could it?

Looks and sounds good, though.

Unhappy And Blood Diamond makes 3

Too bad about the undersizing on this, Rocky, and Flags of Our Fathers. Someone said they thought the screeners were being sent out this way now but I highly doubt it. The Pursuit of Happyness was flawless and full sized.

I'm surprised with the high video rating the group has been giving to the other 3. On my 37inch HiDef they all look pretty chunky.

Always Appreciate the effort but definatly waiting for higher quality rips than these.

I re-encoded the Xvid myself and got a nice 4.35Gb DVD - which is much better than this 2.5Gb effort mVs have done --- also less pixelated.

I dunno what version u guys are looking at but u watched this and there is no weird issue with the pic i give it V9 A 9 M7 no probs good scr. compared to previous releases of this movie this is the best so far

Dunno what ur on about this is a good screener V9 A9 M7 didnt notice anything strange about the pic or watermarks. This is the best copy out at the moment

V8 A7 m? Looks good

Posted by Soul_Sista on 12-24-2006 08:25 PM:

If this was a re-encode of the XVID, then how do u explain the warning messages at the start of this release?

That being said, i can only conclude that this rip was made using the actual source.

Either you believe that or you believe that the grp manually inserted the piracy messages in the begining, which realistically sounds a bit far fetched.

I had also heard the rumour that some of the screeners are coming in the lower released sizes.

Props to MVS, great release.

there is 3 versions of everything out now. There's a super compressed dvd, with excellent quality ripped off two discs has DD5.1 . Thats why there is two titles sets. Then it was recoded to XVID in DD.2 channel stereo. The xvid was then rencoded back to DVD and will not have have DD5.1. Untill someone starts screwing around with IFO edit saying it does and it doesn't.if that happens there will be 4 versions.

thats why all the confusion.

V = 9 - As good as it gets until the retail comes out. A warning message (three lines of text) appears about 6 times at the bottom but only one line affects the screen. No efffect on your viewing pleasure.

A = 9 - Again no problems there.

M = 8 - I thoroughly enjoyed this especially as there were many factual events.

Thanks for releasing guys - keep up the good work!

Was not really happy with this download.... The video was not the greatest when watching it on a 50inch TV.

V: 7
A:9
M: 8

Posted by solo81 on 12-25-2006 02:54 PM:

^^^^i think hes trying to say its not the quality that a screener DVD-R should be, probably because this release is converted from the xvid

encoding software is the equivalent of The 404 going on a diet and walking thru the door. takes longer and sometimes more skill, but ultimately worth it.

Its not converted from the XviD, how many times do you people need to be told, if you compare them side by side its obvious, just because its undersized means nothing.

They aren't up to usual DVD Screener quality but none of these new Screener DVDR's are XviD conversions.

This release, despite being very undersized, is a very worthwhile rip...
