Reencode of the ORC TS - except it looks like it's been converted to another format at least once as the quality has dropped and the sound is pretty weak.

Even has the same missing footage in the middle (probably where there was a tape change as this is quite a long film)

Posted by fireman911 on 01-25-2007 04:40 PM:

this is no rencode of the orc release!

why?:
in the start of the orc release the cam is moving, in the strat of this telecine thers nothing moving!

also this telecine starts with touchstone pictures, and the telesync of orc starts with jerry bruckheimer films!

rated from sample, and first rars;
V:9 (good tc!)
A:7 (sounds ok, but no high bass )
M: gonna watch the DVDR

Hmmm - maybe I was too hasty to suggest it is the ORC source.

i am pretty sure, however, that it is an encode from a nice CAM source due to the fact that you can regularly see blended fields that wouldn't be present in a TC.

Ar is a little odd and synch seems to be a little out throughout the whole film.

Posted by Horton on 01-25-2007 05:55 PM:

This is certainly not a TC. It is a TS. And not a poor one...but the original TS d id this movie justice anyways..

7/7/8

I have to disagree on the above post, although quality is pretty poor for a tc, the start is all there and it does have full credits, which are pretty rare in ts rlses. The ORC rls was way overhyped, first 30 mins had a seat showing in bottom of screen, and also scenes missing i can only guess from a tape change around 1hr 20 mark.

Not a bad rls and more than watchable until retail.

This is not a reencode of the ORC release!
In the ORC release you can see the back of chair for the first 30min and cam jumps around bady for first couple minutes. The only thing that maybe the same is audio

Not sure if this is TS,TC or a bad R5.But if it is a mislabelled TS.I hope mVs brings more of the same quality. Not many TS you get to see end credits

Rated as labeled TC

V: 8
A: 7 (not great but nice and clear)
M: 8

It took all of 6 seconds to know this was a mislabeled TS.

v. 7

a. 6

m. 6

This is a joke of a release, no way on this earth it's a TC, mVs continue to make a fool of themselves by releasing rubbish.

People would give them more respect if they labeled their releases correct instead of getting peoples hopes up.

Rated as a TC

Video 5

Audio 7

Movie ? dvd rip will be out in a month or so, i will wait.

Posted by pomh on 01-26-2007 03:20 AM:

Must be a mislabled TS. Looks like good quality CAM, but no way in hell is this a TC. Plus, to add insult to injury, the film was shot in a 2.35:1 ratio and the sample was in 1.85:1 ratio. TC's are most usually captured in their original aspect ratio. Audio sounded like it was from a theatre. I would wait for a better release, something that is in right ratio...

Posted by Mailman on 01-26-2007 04:26 AM:

You can rag on MVS for having a mislabled product, but to say that they continue to put out rubbish is ignorant. This group has continued to put out quality products after a brief stint of cams. How do I trust a rating by someone that is already showing their adgenda? The quality is better then the previous TS, but if you've already watched ORC's, then don't rush to the computer. Good sound, but the video isn't upgraded enough. Thanks guys, you have brought us a good winter with some great releases and movies to watch.

V-7
A-7
M-7.5

I agree, this is no TC. But it's a very decent TS.

Since mVS decided to label it a TC, I'll rate it as such:

v4 (would have been 8 if rated as a TS - clear and watchable)
a2 (would have been 6 if rated as a TS - too hollow)
m8 (I liked it)

TC?

As most have stated, it looks like a decent TS. TCs are usually much clearer and the AR does seem off. The sound sounds almost like CAM audio. No bass.

As a TC...

This is a bad telecine, if it is one...too damn dark, and something about the screen just isn't right..

6/7/7 movie was average..
