-- problem with ftp/router? (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=74752)
problem with ftp/router?
ok, this is probably a stupid question but here goes.
im trying to set up an ftp to share my own personal mixes with a friend, but im having trouble with getting him connected, the ftp sets up under my router ip 192.xxx.x.xxx but my actual ip is 24.36.17.xxx, i have tried giving him both ip's with the correct port number and neither one works, however, when i connect to it, only with the 192.xxx.x.xxx it works for me, and not him.
please help or explain what i am doing wrong, is there something that i have to setup in my router configuration?
btw router is a Dlink DI-604, basic 4 port router.

Your friend needs the 24.xxx.xxx.xxx addy to connect, and you need to make sure that the correct port is FORWARDED through the router to the 192.xxx.xxx.xxx IP that hosts the FTP server. (Persistent forwarding if it is an option)
Have you done that part?
