Networking Trouble
Ok I know there are a few Windows Gurus on here so maybe you can help. My Uncle has a network (which I setup) and he didn't realize that it could be setup to share the printer. So I ran the network wizard on both pcs and then ran into some trouble. I made them both members of WORKGROUP. The PC upstairs can see the PC downstairs and all the shared folders. The PC downstairs cannot see anything. When I plugged my Mac in I could see both PCs. Everything is wired and both PCs are running Media Center Edition and are Dells. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

What is the sound of one hand clapping?
Firstly, ensure both PC's are members of the same Workgroup (in "My Computer" properties... Ensure the name is the same).
Otherwise, go into the control panel and select the network connections doohickey. Right-click the network connection you're using for the LAN and select properties... You probably need to install the "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" protocol:
On the General Tab select "Install", Select "Service" then select the File and Printer Sharing.
By default only the shared folder is "shared" on the network. To share something else, right-click it and select "Sharing and Security" and go from there.
From this point you can browse to that shared folder from the other PC by going to \\target pc name\share name
For that reason, you might want to consider renaming the PC's to something straightforward as well
If the printer is connected to a PC rather than the router you'll need to perform a similar operation on the "host" PC's driver to share the printer. The on the remote computer the simply add a "network printer"
(I hope that lot makes sense)

also, if you have any firewalls, norton or such, consider disabling for a 15 minute interval for testing purposes, if that clears issues up, you'll know its fine tweaking of the firewall settings.
