300 IMAX
Has anyone seen 300 in IMAX? I'm going to see it tonight at an IMAX screening, never actually been to one before.
Is the IMAX version any better than the standard print?
Well I went to see this last night and it blew my nipples clean off.
Watching a movie in IMAX format is just astonishing. 300 was made even more spectacular because of it.
GF and I both really enjoyed the movie. Granted it's flimsy on plot and contains several corny one-liners but for no-brain entertainment it's top of the class. Topped off with gorgeous visuals it was a great movie to watch in IMAX.
I don't think I would enjoy it so much at a regular theater though, or at home on DVD for that matter.
You can recreate the experience by sitting REALLY FUCKING CLOSE to the screen and having somebody kick the back of your chair throughout

LOL NS.
I was honestly overwhelmed by the sheer size of the IMAX screen. Before the movie they were projecting ads and whatnots on the screen in the standard movie screen size. It was totally dwarfed by the IMAX screen.
I wish all movies were screened in IMAX format, after last night I don't want to go back to watching movies on a normal size movie screen again.
Even the demo thing before the movie demoing the sound stage and the cool lasers and stuff was just class.
IMAX really makes my pants soggy.
The Imax theatre closest to me is what they call an Omnimax. It's actually more of a dome. It's the most impressive moviegoing experience I've ever had, however, because it requires that films be shot in a different manner than the regular Imax they do not screen most major studio releases..
Still probably the coolest place to go if you want to see a movie about space exploration on acid or something to that nature.
I haven't been in an Imax theater since a school trip to the Bradford Museum of Film and Television back in something like 1986

We have an Imax screen here at the local Marcus Theatre on the north side of town. Have to agree with MS, nothing like watching a IMAX movie. Even better, and really a trip, is 3d movies in IMAX.
I saw a star wars movie on the IMAX, I disagree with you guys, It's nothing special. I could care less.

Never been to an IMAX, but always fancied it. Now might be the time as they are showing 300 on the Odeon IMAX in Manchester from the 22nd! Hurrah!
