com surrogate

I remember I had this issue with RC1, now that I'm using the Retail for about 1-2 months. I finally started getting this error.

I can't remember what it was caused from. Anyone remember?

Oh the boot screen for windows, XP had a log at least Why doesn't vista? It's the same as the RC1 & 2 release. Just the status box with the scrolling green status bar.

Com Surrogate crashes are usually caused by sound hardware drivers (especially in the AC97 hardware with non MS drivers) and codecs, most notably the DIVX codec.

Nero Codecs also crash the machine.

For the driver: roll back to the AC97 driver provided by MS

Uninstall codecs: divx (use ffdshow)

Nero: uninstall plugins for nero alternately:

Just rename NeVideo.ax to something else as (NeVideo.a_)
in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\

I think I got rid of the problem, But MPC isn't playing sound anymore, I haven't gotten this after I uninstalled Divx codecs, and did that nero thing. So Will let you know if I get it again.
