Rebel radio going soft rock? Relax to the mellow sounds of the The Rain.

Well not really but. I have a gripe with Rock coming out today.

I listen to the radio for various reasons at work, Mainly becuase I am getting tired of the cd's I have in my car. Also I'm in my car for hours a day.

Is it me or has rock/metal on the radio become soft rock? The groups they play on the radio are soft.

I've noticed a trend, Most of the hit songs are soft. What in the hell is happening to rock today? Rock is turning into nothing but pussies.

I can handle a group doing a soft song, Like Stone Sour because they can at least make it sound great. " Through glass, and Bother." AudioSlave is/was great also.

This pussy shit is reminding me of the 80's power ballads. I'm sure The Candyman loves it, He can understand what there saying now.

Groups that should vanish from the face of this earth.

Linkin Park
Korn Ever hear that amy lee and korn song of freak on the leash? The horrors
Hinder Soft rock
Evanessence There OK at best, The chick is hot, So I can tolerate it.
Nickelback At first they seemed aight, But they are fucking soft rock, I think I heard them on an easy listening channel.
Among many more, This is all I can remember for now.

I'm sure there are people who like it, They are tone deaf. You know people who like that song? I can't find one person who likes it.

That was horrible. My opinion of that group wasn't that good to begin with, now it's even worse. Korn should die.

First things first, Audioslave suck.

Next up: does it matter what the radio plays, or the groups that sell millions of records sounding like crap? Hell no. Its not as if that means there's no decent music out there, its always been in the underground and thats the only reliable place. I'd hate to be relying on what DJ Dumbfuck was spinning on the local rock station to know what was good, go outside go to gigs and find stuff you do like.

Thirdly - power ballads rules ok.

Fourthly - Airheads also rules.

When it comes to music I usually agree with you, But leave Audioslave alone, Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they suck. Audioslave rocked when they were together.

The majority of the cd's I have in my car, Most have never and will never be played on the radio. The heaviest I hear on the radio is Killswitch Engage.

I don't listen to much mainstream, Very little. My point was when turning on the radio it's nothing but soft shit, Mainstream metal/rock has become soft rock.

Amen, this shit is fucking tailor made for pop radio. It's garbage no matter what type of radio station you put it on though. Blame myspace and hick towns for popularizing this garbage.

Anyone hear that new song by Linkin Park? This song rocks, It's not heavy but my god it's the best thing ever.

The beginning sounded just like there older shit, When I was at work today, It popped on the radio and I knew who it was before they started singing, I never heard this song before, It's just the same old shit.

There was NO originality to it. It was beyond horrible.

I guess this is what Rock is turning into, pop rock, Stinkin Park is the latest Boy Band. I think Britney speers has something on them.

610 WTVN Baby!!!!

Para has no interest in talk radio (local/national issues don't effect or matter to him ) nor would he listen to the above mentioned am station as it leans more towards the conservative (Rush, Hannity) though the morning show (Joel Riley) and afternoon drive home show (John Corby) are both pretty good. Corby's show does some pretty interesting and funny shit including the Big Bass Brothers Restaurant Review each Friday were Corby, Riley and Joe Bradley go to a local restaurant for lunch and then report on the restuarant's ambiance, food, service and even the bathroom (usually Corby's job lol!) So there is some decent non-music stuff to listen to.

Para didn't mention we lost our more non-mainstream rock/metal station a while back, 107.1. They played a lot of darker, harder shit, but now it's a fuckin' country. Like having 4 (or more) country stations in Columbus isn't enough.

Para you keep confusing me with JR and my wife (80's music). I still listen to it (Priest, Metallica, AC/DC, etc.), but I enjoy new stuff as well (see below).

That Korn/Amy Lee shit is just that:shit.

Para, taken a look at the mp3 discs in my van lately?

They include (in no particular order) CKY, Killswitch Engaged, Audioslave*, Sevendust, Vital Remains, Deftones, Rob Zombie, Between the Buried and Me, Lacuna Coil, POD, Staind, Static X, Theory of a Deadman, SOTD, Saliva, etc. some of which I know you've listened to as well. Maybe none of them are the thrash/death metal shit you listen to, but who really gives a fuck. I know I don't.

*Audioslave sucks balls.

If you don't like the music, TURN OFF THE FUCKIN RADIO! Now that wasn't hard was it?

When I'm in my car, I can't listen to talk radio, I can't even listen to sports. I get bored while in the car. I need something I can jam to.

I know you have heard Killswitch on the Radio recently.
All but one or two of the groups you mentioned are played on the radio.

Which Killswitch cd do you have? There older shit is much better. There new cd was decent.

Thrash/Death metal? Where back in the 80's aren't we? I haven't heard those, Candyman Mushroomhead is going to be here Thursday at the Alrosa, Wanna go?
