Halo 3 beta Date confirmed.

Microsoft announced this morning that the much anticipated Halo 3 beta will begin on May 16th, 5AM PDT, and will run for three weeks ending June 6th at 11:59PM PDT. The beta will come equipped with the three of the maps we already know about, Valhalla, Snowbound, and High Ground. It will also give players a chance to try out the Mongoose and many of the new weapons including the MA5C Assault Rifle, the Brute Spiker, the Spartan Laser, and the Spike Grenades. Finally, as a sort of hors d'oeuvre for the beta, a new ViDoc is now available at Bungie.net and Xbox Live Marketplace. Titled ""Is Quisnam Protero Damno!," the ViDoc gives some behind the scenes info on the new multiplayer maps and their design process.

3 weeks kinda sucks. I'm glad crackdown actually turned out to be a good game, otherwise i'd be pissed.

Anyway, anyone here in the beta?

This is coming up quick. I tried the demo for crackdown and won't be paying $60 for it.

I might rent it for a few days and check out A-LO3, though.

I wonder if usenet will have a pre-release of it with french dialogue like it did for 2.

I still have that on my xbox, I never liked it enough to bother with the "proper" version but enjoyed multiplayer so never deleted it!

I rented Crackdown when it first hit shelves, and I was quite surprised at how much fun I had with it. Last week I actually went out and bought myself a used copy from GameStop because Microsoft put out new content and so I could play the Halo 3 beta this Wednesday. I'm sure the beta will be pretty sweet, but it'll be interesting to see what new and what's improved.

A word of advice.

Spring the "800 Points" for the premium DLC for crackdown, its well worth it. the free pack is good too, but with both, it adds tons of new features, new cars, weapons, game modes, car impounds. its great.

With any luck this will be a short delay. People enetering the Beta through other methods - Friends and Family, Rule of Three and so on, are unaffected.

So gay...

i live on the west coast and got my ass up at 5 AM to try this shit out. But fucking Bungie had delayed the beta...so I've been getting my last 50 orbs and wasting time killing civilians...whoopie

i had forgotten how completely pathetic most of the halo fanbase really is until now.

Finally DL.

Had to do this to enable the DL button;

Restart your box, then do this:

Go to the dashboard.
Go to the system tab
Select memory
Highlight your hard drive
Press Y
Press X, X, LB, RB, X, X
Say yes when prompted to do maintenance on your hard drive.
