-- I need help with EXCEL (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=75828)

I need help with EXCEL

So I have two spreadsheets. Each spreadsheet has two columns. The first column in each spreadsheet one is named product_id the second column in each spreadsheet is named product_sku.

Now spreadsheet A has more entries in column A (that’s product_id) then Spreadsheet B. How do I make, beg Excel to tell me which product_id numbers are being used in Spreadsheet A that aren’t being used in Spreadsheet B?

Then after all this I need a way to trick, force Excel into telling me which product_skus in Column B of Spreadsheet A do not match the product_skus in Spreadsheet B.

Used to work with Excel quite often. But dont' remember really how to handle your mess :>

Try posting at mr.excel.com

best help I can give at the moment

Also, if you could paste the spreadsheet here, that would be helpful. Making me think too much before I'm going to bed.

Take a look at this.

Using Match() and Count () and stuff

Two spreadsheets, one workbook.

well here's the spreadsheet.

You've given me a nice lead but can you explain what the 0 at the end of
=MATCH(B2,Sheet2!$B$2:$B$11,0)
is doing?

Is that just counting?

Now I want to thank you for your help, and I'm honestly not trying to get you to do my work for me, but here's what I need to do

I need to find out which numbers in spreadsheet Meeca's product_id column are not being used in spreedsheet Studio's product_id column

The other thing I need to do with this data is fiqure out where the combination of product_id and product_sku differs from the Mecca spreedsheat and the Studio spreadsheet.

Anyway you've been a big help but if ya just explained what the C column is doing I'm sure I can fiqure it out meself.

editted because I didn't use the preview post button
