Weeeeeeeeeee - Linux!

Finally got around to installing Linux

Been meaning to do it for a while. I went with OpenSUSE (No Ubuntu please, I've heard it enough )

Anyways, I'll be tinkering with it soon and I'm sure I'll have a million and one questions as time progresses

For now, here's my setup

OpenSUSE 10.2 with KDE
Debating on Compiz or Beryl, but I'll probably do one of those pretty soon.
Still need to learn the most basic of basic Linux commands and features though, so those are more important :}

Beryl is still in a hard beta (imo) (though I did love what it *could* do)

Tried to use it, though not in the last 6 months, with the exception of a Live CD.

Nice background. Looks sexy.

Using Debian, Knoppix, and Slackware pretty much daily. Also used Novell in the past for business purposes (but it was somewhat a pain).

I recommend browsing the forums at www.linuxquestions.org. They have a great community.

CentOS or Ubuntu > Windows.

End of.

Vista is a pile of paedophiles pants.

My eldest brother and I decided we'd both try out Linux and wanted to try different distro's. He's on Ubuntu, I'm on Suse. Although to be frank, Suse appealed to me more anyways. Everyone and their mother swears by Ubuntu, so I'm sure it's a solid OS, but a few friends of mine convinced me that it was worth trying Suse.

Vista's nothing great. I have it as my main. It's stable, it works, but I see no actual reason to use it yet other than if you want Aero Glass

*sarcastic Homer Simpson voice*

Oooh! A pretty little twinkly winkly interface! I'm so happy! I like to play in fields and drink lemonade and paint rainbows and collect pressed flowers!

What a crock! Vista is a pile of elderly man's nipples soaked in malt vinegar.

The only reason to have Windows installed at all is if you play games on a PC.

PC games generally smell of eggy wind and therefore further merit the purchase of a console should you be in to gaming.

Linux or Mac OS over Windows any day. And if not XP > Vista.

kayDawg, I use to support SuSE Linux Enterprise Desk (SLED), which I use to do a lot in OpenSuSE. If you want to send me a PM and ask your question.
