Rapturious

Probably too short to be classed as a proper review but a review nonetheless/ I don't have the time to expand.

Ok so I watch a lot of movies. This means I watch all the major ones and when I run out I start looking elsewhere for entertainment.

During that search I came across this movie, Rapturious.

Rapturious

I thought it was fecking great. Despite the cheap looking camera work the acting was spot on. The lead, played by Robert Oppel was especially good.

When I first started watching it I knew nothing of the plot so from the opening, I assumed it was going to be a Western movie. I was pretty fucked up
at the time so when it switched from the old west to present day New York it was quite a surprise. A good surprise.

It went on to tell the tale of a serial killer that had escaped from hell, been reborn in another body and was now being tracked down by demons who wanted to take him back to hell. In his current form he was a white dreadlocked rapper fucked on all kinds of drugs. One particular drug giving him some insight into his past deeds and looming fate.

Usually when watching this type of movie we only carry on watching so we can laugh at the shitness of the acting but in this case we carried on watching because we liked the movie. Haven't heard of any of the actors in it before but will definitely be looking out for them in future releases, and, the director Kamal Ahmed (who also starred as a taxi driver in the movie) is definitely one to look out for.

Slightly embarrassing but I was convinced the guy who played Rapturious was in the TV show Jericho, had to look it up to find out that it was Robert Oppel in this and Skeet Ulrich in Jericho. They really do look alike after a few whiskies.
