EDIT:: as of today, 07/24/07.. 11 days since this movie hit American theaters... it has made... Worldwide: $6,394,124 ....
so... taking into account the foreign boxoffice... my 10 million prediction is way overshooting it...

This release is a heavily cut version that has had nearly all the gore removed and the plot altered. This cut would be PG-13 in the US except for the language.

Avoid like the plague if you actually enjoy horror movies.

8/7/1 (the US theater release is more like a 5 or 6 if you're a fan of the genre)

I thought it was me. I started to watch the canal version last week and thought "the quality sucks so I'll wait for theater". Then this came out, so I was interested in the DVDR of it. Just from the first few mins I watched the other I knew this one was different.

Oh well...

For this release:

V - 7 (for slight pixelation)
A - 9 - no real issues
M - 4

I'll probably go see the real one in theaters.

V- 9, A - 9, M - 7

Actually this version isn't cut. It's the original version of the film before the studio suits wanted the director to add a bunch of gore to ride the ToturePorn gravy train.

For my money this is the superior version of the film. It plays like a claustraphobic thriller with more emphasis on the cops investigation and less on the tacked on gore.

That said, the film isn't perfect by any means. Cuthbert isn't much of an actress and the killer "reveal" leaves a lot to be disired.

Picture and sound are top quality for an Xvid DVDrip release.

Terrible dissapointment to this movie. Nice rip but the trailers and the teasers up to this point market this as an Hostel/ Saw'sh like movie and that is where it starts to dissapoint.
