Yea it is a bit grainy for that bitrate. But good job gettin the R1 out there first Emerald!!

On a CRT or TV this will look just fine. but HD and LCD screens you will notice alot of the grain crawl in the sample on the ground

But having only 8 Days left to make a music video out of this, I am far from being picky at this point and will take what is on the table

Keep up the good work guys!

All copies of 300 are grainy, its the print itself i read somewhere that they went for that grainy look. I saw the film at my local Imax and it was exactly the same grainy look.

Actually curious joto did a great job in the release, this one wasnt needed since everything is stripped like the previous release. Even had a MENU fix that came out a few days later to replace the portugese menu. The other release is slightly higher in byte rate.

umm you need to get your head checked or something... R1 > curious jotos pos R4... this rip is a lot better and is from the retail region 1 NTSC

I guess this as good as it gets, I didn't see it in IMAX, but this is a bit grainy (I supposed as how it was mastered to be).

V: 9
A: 9.5
M: 9

I thought the quality of this was much better than the CJ release. The colors on the CJ release looked a bit washed to me.

About the grainy look...

The visible grain was intentional, which is why they used Expression 500T. The director and DP liked that texture, which added to the graphic, painterly, and gritty quality to the image. They didn't want that smooth, hyper-clean digital photography look.

V 9
A 9
M 10 Proper blokes film.

When I saw that on the previous 'group' release I thought it was a poor rip or inferior source , I'd seen this twice in the theatres too & never even noticed the grain! lol

must have been the beer's fault!!

But Lipservice (& others) is right - its meant to look this way.

nice release, not much difference between this & the CJ release, so either would do...

The DVD9 is out now too..

V-9
A-9
M-8'ish

No complaints, the graininess of the movie is the cinematography (as stated above), it was intended since nearly everything is CG I guess they thought it looked better.

V - 9 Its good

A - 9 all in sync

M - 8 great story, great movie, really enjoyed it
