R5 to R1 help
How do I burn an img that is R5 so that I can watch on my stand alone R1?
I am referring to the F4 Rise of the Silver Surfer in the DVDR forum.
Thanks for your help.
R5 is the source, the DVD you downloaded will not be region encoded with any region, it may however be in PAL and your shitty NTSC DVD player will more than likely spit its dummy out of the pram because it is american and therefore has no knowledge of anything "foreign".
Apologies if you are Canadian

I did burn it already at it will not play on the PC or my stand alone DVD. I have burned 100's of disks and have never had a problem, so I am kinda of stumped. The only thing I could figure is that the descripition said it was R5.
Thanks again for your help.
I burned it and the DVD player spit it back as PAL. Works in XBox, PS2 and Xbox 360 though.
To fix it for the DVD player was real simple, I used NeroVision Express 3 and loaded the img file as if it were a avi and nero did the conversion and plays fine on the regular DVD now.
Hope that helps a bit.
If you download the xvid source you can use basically any program (I recommend convertxtodvd) to convert the movie into r1/ntsc. Hope that helps.
Or buy an Xvid player. Problem solved.
not sure if this helps in this circumstance...but if it is a true r5...dvdshrink can strip the region codes...but it does not convert ntsc/pal...for that i use vob2mpg then svcd2dvd...absolutely no loss in quality
