Mr Brooks
Now before you say fuck Kevin Costner you gotta watch this. I know a lot of people hate him but you just have to accept that he has a horrible affliction to choosing shitty movies. This, however, is not a shitty movie.
I'm a big William hurt fan as well plus Dane Cook is just a bonus as he gets sort of free reign and doesn't have to stick to a serious role. Go watch if you havent.
Re: Mr Brooks
It's a pile of crap held together by coincidences and circumstances that beggar belief.
***SPOILERS (though I feel I'd be doing you a favour by not telling you I'm going to spoil) ***
- Demi Moore is staggeringly bad...and plays a cop worth $60m who became a cop to prove her daddy wrong. Yeah. Right. Next!
- Kevin Costner the serial killer is investigated by Moore...who is being stalked by another serial killer...who ends up being stalked by Costner...because while the whole of the US is on the lookout for him he gets recognised by Costner...who at the time is tailing a guy who cut him up on the freeway...who turns out to be Moore's estranged husband!?!!??! WHAT THE GOONY-GOO-GOO FUCKEDNESS IS OCCURRING WITH THIS PLOT?!?!!?
And there's so much other Swiss cheese randomness of holes and tenuous links it takes escapism in the movies to a whole new level! (Such as why if Moore has suspicions about Smith she doesn't stake him out the first day (when he's clearly carrying photographs) or even the second day (both of when he meets Costner) but picks a random other time.)
Don't even get me started on the whole storyline with the daughter...
3/10: Very pretty box wrapped up in pre-used paper and containing a freshly steaming turd.

Just a correction for baha that was not moores husband who cut off costner it was a random guy but after he saw the guy she put away he got the idea of killing the husband...
It starts off interesting but there's too many sub plots and conincidences etc.
Also Moore's character gets thrown from a van at full speed and lands on another car. Later at the hospital all she has is a cut to her head!!!
Also she's a multi millionaire that decided to become a cop!!!
just having fun with you v.but if a rich person named bruce wayne hadn't decided to fight crime....
quote:You're absolutely correct, I remember now. But it's still full of holes

I completely agree could have been a much better movie if it just had a little better writing...
Yeah it was a hard plot to wrap my mind around, but it still had a interesting premise. I enjoyed it overall.
Was like a feature length episode of Dexter with added crapulosity.
It could have been good, I just felt that the Demi Moore story was forced in as part of a 'must have a subplot' agenda. The movie did need a subplot its just that the one they came up with was shite and overall it was a disappointing waste of a good cast.
